And was behind UNC by over a hundred. Unless you count the time before they were the "University of South Carolina." It's a fine school, the medical school is top tier in the nation. No slamming here. But Southern Cal, fair or not, is more famous, and UNC was the first and original "Carolina."

In football, 10 or 11 (one vacated) national titles for USC, 0 for SCar, 25 conference championships for USC, 1 for SCar.

I agree that SC is overrated, and not just in football. Perhaps the one shining department in the entire university is International Business in the Darla Moore School of Business. It has been ranked #1 in the nation for 14 years.
