Look up "high maintenance" and there's a pic of Ginger.

"When asked why she often is chosen over Ginger, Dawn Wells had this to say:

“I’ve always said — and I don’t mean this to be offensive — is that Ginger is a one-night stand while Mary Ann is for a lifetime. Mary Ann is the one you would marry or be your best friend or go to the prom with you, while Ginger would be exciting but you’d have to take her to expensive places and buy her a martini…Mary Ann’s for the long haul.”"

But IRL, Tina Louise was fershure a hottie!

I'm all in for the one night stand.

My Mary Ann fantasies NEVER included growing old together. I just thought she was flat out sexier, partly because of that pretend "nice" farm girl innocence.

Dawn Wells was a former Miss Nevada when she auditioned for the Mary Ann role. Her competition included Raquel Welch and Pat Priest. The pilot episode featured a different character ("Bunny") played by actress Nancy McCarthy. After it was shot, the network decided to recast the roles of the Professor and the two young women. Mary Ann became a simple farm girl from Winfield, Kansas.

Seems we would have been alright no matter who was on the goddamn island.

Pat Priest? Isn't she the girl who was the daughter on The Munsters show? In any case, my allegiance to Mary Ann goes only as far as when Elke Sommer shows up. She was crazy about me, spoke several languages and always looked good doing it. I would have killed the professor with a pipe wrench in the parking lot if Elke said the word.

Thanks, I was going to mention that but got flustered by all of the, ummm, bikinis. She did okay losing the GI role.

Patricia Ann Priest (born August 15, 1936) is an American actress known for portraying the second Marilyn Munster on the television show, The Munsters (1964–1966) after original actress Beverley Owen left after 13 episodes.

Yeah, well, those bikini shots are nice. But I can remember that Priest girl from seeing her on tv, which is weird since I never thought of her as an "object of desire" as women were typically portrayed in media back then. I do remember having it bad for Mary Ann and Elke and also Jill St John back when I first started "having it bad" for those white women. When I had it bad, it was bad. These days not so much.

Read somewhere that Mary Ann & Ginger are the last two surviving members of Gilligan's Island.
Hard to imagine either of them getting on something called a minnow, let alone both.
We'll just remember them for who they were.

 Yeah, I sometimes take a look at my old Navy ID card they gave me when I got out; being part of inactive reserve for a period after active duty was pretty standard back then. Anyway, I was 25 years old when the photo was taken and often long for those sort of days again. But let's just imagine what Kellyanne Conway or Laura Ingraham will look like when they're in their 70's. :wtf:
Edit; I actually use that old Navy ID when I go to vote here in TN. Here any federal Identification even if expired is valid for voter id. After all, it has my old photo and also my fingerprints on the reverse.

My images are not that different from the way they look now :D . Beauty is skin deep, but an ugly soul is forever.

Absolutely goddam right; beauty is only skin deep but ugly goes down to the bone.

Everybody gets old, if they live long enough. But they're mostly still good-looking women. IMNVHO, a woman who is attractive when she's young will still be attractive when she's old if she doesn't get very much cosmetic surgery and takes reasonably good care of herself. Sad to see the ones who have re-created faces that don't look nearly as good as their naturally aging one would have. Same applies to men too, in general. Right, Kenny Rogers?

True, but I can also understand why it's "These days not so much" for neoplacebo "having it bad for Mary Ann and Elke and also Jill St John". ;)
