Let the punishment fit the crime. Some people need to die. That woman and her new husband that killed both her kids and then flew off to Hawaii comes to mind. Also the young TN mother here in Sullivan County who killed her toddler daughter and buried her in a family members back yard. In trying to put myself in any one of those peoples situation, I think I'd want to die.

Gary Hilton is the one that always does it for me. He pleaded out of the death penalty. There's no reason for him to be alive, none.

Prison can be tougher than death. It's often the easy way out. Don't we have to put a lot of the incarcerated on suicide watch to prevent them taking the easy way out?

Some people argue that more laws making it more difficult to get guns aren't the answer, as criminals don't follow the laws, so they'll still commit firearm related crimes.

In the last two shooting sprees, both killers obtained their weapons legally. The law was enforced, the guns were obtained within the parameters of the law, but many people were murdered.

Therefore the law failed. Does that not mean we need to fix the law in order to make it more difficult for mass shootings to happen?

I have yet to see the name of the shop that sold Ramos the guns and ammo soon after he turned 18. If any of you come across it please share. Same for the manufacturers. I want to send them a neo fish slap.

ABC news named the gun store as "Oasis" but I didn't catch the location because I was engaged in dangerous and illegal activity at the time. Tomorrow will likely reveal more detail. In the meantime I'm going to go back to that other action.

I happened to catch Texas Governor Abbott's remarks about the Uvalde shootings last night.

What struck me was that NOBODY has questioned his reasoning specifically the claim that other states with gun control laws have more gun related shootings than happened in the Texas school shooting.

Seemed to me that he was comparing oranges to road apples: On the one hand you have all the kids slaughtered in the Texas school, and on the other hand you have someone pointing to gun violence in general in other states, as a way to excuse the lack of effective gun control in Texas.

Anybody else catch that anomaly?

I'm no expert, but I did go through extensive active shooter training and planning, from the perspective of medical response. The standard since Columbine has been rapid entry and engagement, not waiting for SWAT. That way, certain areas can be cleared and medical teams can be escorted in, relatively safely. Victims can be found and treated on scene or evacuated, even while battle continues with the attacker/s elsewhere on site.

40 minutes seems like an awful long time for this murders to have lasted, but . Could fewer have been shot? Could more of the shot have been rescued before they bled out? Did the cops fail to meet the post-Columbine standard or did they do everything they could have?

“Go in there! Go in there!” nearby women shouted at the officers soon after the attack began, said Juan Carranza, 24, who saw the scene from outside his house, across the street from Robb Elementary School in the close-knit town of Uvalde. Carranza said the officers did not go in.
