Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

I saw a video of Putin speaking with one of his ministers. The dude looks like he's losing it. He looks stressed and pissed and straight up crazy. I feel like throughout this whole situation he hasn't been able to control the narrative, and the west beat him at his own propaganda game by releasing Intel refuting everything he claimed. And in the end that Intel was proven correct. I wonder if that's gotten under his skin?
Yep.

So Putin is addressing Russia live.

The translation is stilted and not clear, lots of mention of Lenin and even Stalin and historical b.s. justification.....

But his body language and presentation are weird. He's sort of slouching behind a desk, suit jacket open, tie not straight and seems to be very labored.

Stressed is he?

Sounds like he wants to make the Soviet Union Great Again.

I bet John Bolton is going full bore Yosemite Sam over this thing. I sure haven't seen him on Faux News lately.

You watch Faux Noise? Bolton has been busy:

I get a local Fox channel but don't get the Hannity Carlson Ingraham stuff on that channel. Don't know why. But I figured Bolton would be all in a tizzy about this development. He's one of my favorite clowns.

Without regard to whether he's right or wrong, Bolton has always been a loose cannon whether he had a real job or was just kibitzing from the sidelines. There's no reason any reputable news source would quote him. Oh wait...Faux.

I was referencing him in the sense that he's been part of the Republican national security club for decades. With all the cheerleading for Putin from the current right wing idiots like Carlson and trump I just figured it would make John go haywire. But like you noted, he's always been haywire. A loose screw. A lost ball in high weeds.

Quick reminder that Donald Trump was impeached because he tried to withhold military aid from Ukraine unless they did him a favor to help his campaign.

Ukraine has had a very, very rough ten years, put in the middle of u.s. and Russian politics and AFAIK they've done nothing really to deserve it besides being in an unlucky location.

Conservatives: This wouldn't have happened under Trump. Russia invaded Ukraine because Biden is weak.

Remember when
- Trump trusted Putin's word over our own Intelligence
- Trump said it was common sense to readmit Russia to the G7
... Ah fuck it here's like 30 things:

Perhaps he could be expelled to Moscow.

Here ya go.
Abuse of Power

The allegation of abuse of power stems from Trump's decision to withhold roughly $400 million of congressionally approved military aid from Ukraine until the country announced an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden, a political rival.

A meeting with Trump at the White House that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wanted was also dangled as a condition for the announcement of an investigation.

In a July 25 phone call, Trump urged Zelensky to investigate Biden, and his son, Hunter, who worked for the Ukraine energy company Burisma Holdings. The "favor," as Trump described it, was made despite a lack of evidence that Biden or his son had engaged in corrupt activities, according to the House Intelligence report.

...

Trump and his GOP allies have dismissed the allegation, saying the aid was released and Ukraine never made an announcement to investigate the Bidens. In addition, they point to Zelensky's statements that he never felt pressure to act in exchange for the aid. Trump said Zelensky's denial is proof that he "has done nothing wrong with respect to Ukraine and our interactions or calls."
The 2 articles of impeachment against President Trump explained

Perhaps the Dems should have made sure, constitutionally, Zelensky would support their side prior to filing that impeachment charge?

If you're not familiar with the American Constitution, I'm sure we can find you a copy.

Or you could use the term "legally" if that makes you feel any better.

Any term would be a challenge.

Comfy now?

Good!
