The Music Thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Not surprising. They were always a bunch of yayhoos. Talented yayhoos, put-on-a-great-show yayhoos, but yayhoos none the less.

I loved them in the 70s, before their politics showed. Their politics suck. I remember reading somewhere about them playing at a white supremacist rally in Idaho or Montana.

And then there's this from Wikipedia:
"In addition to the tour, Skynyrd appeared at the Sean Hannity Freedom Concert series in late 2010. Hannity had been actively promoting the God & Guns album, frequently playing portions of the track "That Ain't My America" on his radio show. The tour is titled "Rebels and Bandoleros"."

They were pretty much dead to me before the DeSantis song; they are now fully dead and buried.

You would have expected something different?

I've run across some older instrumentals lately that showcase some major skills/talent. I may have posted some of these before, definitely the last one - but it's worth repeat. Not everyone may like particular selections, but the playing is really excellent.

Nowhere we can reasonably get to. Too bad, I'd definitely like to see them.

Well, there's Atlanta and Cary, NC for the SC and NC people.

Don't know where you are now, or will be in the future but there are 5 or 6 California dates.

Yeah, problem is looks like we'll be in BC for the summer. There is one in Redmond WA, though, maybe we can look into that one but it's still over 200mi. When I saw them on TV, though, I was like "I want to see them live!"

Ulysses gets one in Berkeley.

Yes in August. Too bad it won't be the whole band.

And it's gonna be at the Greek Theatre, which kinda sort of has a stairway to heaven.
