I can't find the post but you were discussing Frankie Drake and Miss Scarlett on PBS. IIRC you said that one of them only produced 6 episodes. In fact, Frankie Drake Mysteries was 41 episodes over 4 years, and Miss Scarlett, which is still producing new episodes, is 36 episodes over 5 years.
I also enjoy both. Did you recognize Frankie Drake from CSI? I couldn't place her at first. Lauren Lee Smith portrayed CSI Riley Adams.
I saw this season premiere right before "Creatures" and still like it. The new relationship with the Inspector should be interesting.
There are 30 episodes across the first five seasons of Miss Scarlet, with each season having six episodes; a sixth season with another six episodes is airing in early 2026, bringing the total to 36 episodes. The show, known as Miss Scarlet and The Duke for its earlier seasons, follows Victorian London's first female detective, Eliza Scarlet, on her cases, with Season 5 seeing character changes after William "The Duke" Wellington's departure.
Episode Count by Season:
Seasons 1-5: 6 episodes each (Total: 30 episodes)
Season 6: 6 episodes (Premiering January 2026)
I read All Creatures has been renewed for a couple of more seasons, but who knows when we'll get to see them. Wasn't it a year and a half or so since the last season before this one?

Instead, since late January, the schoolboy has been confined to a hospital bed with measles encephalitis, a complication that causes swelling and inflammation in the brain. “He's pretty much as if he was paralyzed,” his devastated father, 41, told The Independent in a phone interview from his son’s hospital bedside.
Ethan’s parents decided not to immunize him against measles as they did with his three brothers. Three out of four of them contracted measles. Still, despite Ethan’s ordeal, his mom stands by their decision. “We’re not blaming God for this,” said 35-year-old Kristina. “Yes, it hurts, of course, it hurts. But God has chosen Ethan for a reason. God is doing something, and we're gonna glorify his name regardless.
“And we wouldn't change it any other way,” the mom continued. “If I knew this could be the outcome, I still wouldn't have given my son the vaccine.”
“Our biggest reason why we didn't do it is just with all the unnecessary stuff they add into it,” Kristina added, referring to her beliefs about the vaccine.

Ethan and his family live in South Carolina’s Spartanburg County, the epicenter of the outbreak where cases of the highly contagious virus have exploded in recent months. There have been 962 confirmed cases in the state since the outbreak began in September 2025, surpassing the 762 cases reported in West Texas last year.
...
“That's when they told us that there's inflammation in the center of his brain, and they were waiting for the spinal tap to confirm that it is measles encephalitis,” Kristina said.
Doctors explained to the couple that the swelling on the brain would impact Ethan’s movement and speech
He can't move his body, but his brain, his mind… My son is 100 percent there,” Kristina added. “He understands everything. He hasn't lost any of his memory or anything.”
..
And Ethan’s neurologist told his parents at the weekend that while some inflammation in the brain remains, some areas have shown signs of improvement, Luis said. “He is no longer on any meds and is communicating a lot better, and moves his arms,” the dad said.
“Walking will be a process,” he added, and said Ethan should soon be able to begin physical therapy
...
Ethan’s mom believes that “there will be a miracle.”
“That’s what’s keeping us strong, and being able to be here with him,” she said from Ethan’s bedside. “We know it's in God's hands.”
JFC that poor kid. What absolute dumbshit yokel parents.

Can't blame God when s/he created the scientists who created the MMR vaccine, duh.

SC cheer: We're dumber than West Texas!

End of season . It was a good one . They announced Seasons 7 and 8. Yay! Will it be 10 months again until S7?
Spoiler:
Tristan's xmas toast recalled those who were lost, hoped that it wasn't in vain and wished that it would never have to be fought again. Was that a subtle message to 2025-26?

Her explanation sounds plausible if not necessarily believable. Otoh, there's no forgiving being a MAGAt.
... Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick, a newly minted four-time castaway who first competed on Survivor: Palau (season 10) and most recently wrapped filming for the show's milestone 50th season, made waves online after lashing out at fellow alum Eliza Orlins....
It's all over but the live shows. She may have sewed it up , or may have gotten booted early.

We make what might be called a "generous donation" to our PBS station, but if they plan to kill off more old ladies goats and leave the old lady alone on Christmas, I may demand a refund.

I thought Siegfried might stay but noooo, he had a hot theoretical date.
And they did it with laurel . . . at Christmas!
Even worse, a roommate fed our milk goat chokecherry (the name should have been a clue) that had been cut down a couple of days earlier. This was a plant that she'd happily been munching on live. She started seizing within minutes. We did the mad scramble to the vet, but there was nothing to be done . Talk about triggered. I haven't thought about it for a long time.
