Race, lets make this serious! It is nearly 2013.

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Your enjoyment of snark seems to override your ability to make a distinction in denying Tesla discriminates (which I did not) and commenting on the apparent merits of a particular case (which I did). As to the other manufacturers, yes, including Chrysler, all it takes to find their histories of discrimination lawsuits is to google. But yeah, it is irrelevant to whatever Tesla is doing, if anything, or whether you'd buy a Tesla, which seems unlikely at best even without any corporate discrimination issues.

Were I a self-righteous "woke" person like you know who, I'd agree. But I'm not. Praise the Lord.... ( :crybaby: )

Whining about "woke" is Repugspeak for not giving a shit about people or the planet. I am impressed by your insight and agree with your admission.

Horrific allegations of racism prompt California lawsuit against Tesla

Ever heard of the LA Times?

Ummm, the significant fact is that the lawsuit is filed by the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, not that the LA Times reports on it. Ever hear of logic?

Now, doesn't Elon Musk hail from South Africa? That hotbed of racial equality?

Legally, South Africa is racial equal. Anyhow, Musk spent all of his adult life in Canada and the US, mostly the US. We have plenty of prejudice here, haven't you noticed?

 I'm sure "someone" does, but not me. I could give a ratzass about Tesla, but I made a pretty good living off of employers who thought they could get by with discriminating, and some who were falsely (or mistakenly) accused. I just enjoy the topic. You just enjoy snark. To each their own.

If your comprehension wasn't so rotten, as usual, you would get that O Really is speaking from a career of experience as to what discrimination claims and lawsuits will fly, not from any favoritism towards Tesla. You are so far out of your league on this issue that it's laughable.

Plus, O Really has actual anti-racist action chops, and isn't just a pretentious, overtly racist asshole like you.

You don't know what my vehicular plans are, so your comment about "unlikely at best" would itself fall under the general category of "snark".

In other words, amicus curiae yourself.

No, I don't. Nor do I care. But if one pays a little attention to what someone else says or writes about themselves, s/he can learn a lot. There is nothing in anything you have written about yourself in the past several years that would give any indication that you would go shopping for a late model or new Tesla. But hey, sometimes people change. Sometimes they don't.

:bs: You fail comprehension, again. O Really's supposition is perfectly reasonable based on the number of vehicles you already own, your stated satisfaction with them and the fact that you have not expressed any interest in buying a Tesla in this thread or any other, as O Really beat me to saying. Get a 4th grader to explain your own posts to you.

You're just desperately flailing about for a 'gotcha' given that O Really has owned you on this topic and your ego is too brittle to hack it. Poor baby.

Well, I've had other concerns about Tesla as an EV. Fortunately there are other EV's on the market that promise to do better than Tesla in a number of ways.

And if you think what I've written here "about myself" in the past several years so far provides a full picture... well, I'll just say you don't have all the relevant information. And/or you're just ignoring those facts that don't fit into your pre-conceived notion.

Not my problem.

And, as far as your "snark" allegation goes... you seem to have blinders on when it comes to certain other individuals here. Or, you're just being deliberately obtuse.

I myself solicited O Really's advice a few years ago after I was "laid off" from my last job six weeks before my 60th birthday. I was the estimator for the technologies division of a well known electrical contractor in Asheville. At the time I was let go, we had about a two year backlog of work; work that I secured for the company. A week or so later I spoke with my counterpart who was the estimator for the electrical division. He happened to mention that "Kurt" (a guy who was half my age) had assumed my former job. This made me think  and after thinking about it for a few days I contacted the EEOC and relayed the situation to them. The woman I spoke with told me she didn't think I had a case. I thought I did and eventually I was notified that a mediation with me, EEOC, and the employer was set at the Federal Building in Asheville. I won my case but only asked for a token amount; $2,500 but I expect I could have gotten ten times that. And I just violated the terms of that agreement by revealing the amount I was awarded.

2022?
Coaches in lawsuit say Kansas community college wanted fewer Black athletes

... The suit says that Highland Community College, located in Kansas City, Kan., deliberately attempted to discourage Black students from college and also intimidated Black student-athletes into leaving the school.

The college also allegedly told its coaches to stop recruiting Black student-athletes.

"The HCC administration acted in a concerted fashion to discriminate against Black student-athletes, and when challenged by coaches trying to do the right thing, reacted by smearing the reputations of those coaches, depriving them both of due process and future work possibilities," William Odle, a lawyer who is representing the plaintiffs of the case, told KCUR.

HCC athletic director Bryan Dorrel allegedly told former women's basketball coach B.J. Smith that he "had to recruit more players the culture of our community could relate to."

"I actually said, 'I don't think I understand what you mean,'" said Smith, remembering the incident. "And he very aggressively said, 'You know exactly what I mean.'"
:headscratch: The community of Highland, Kansas is "84.7% White, 10.0% African American, 1.1% Native American, 0.4% Asian, 0.8% from other races, and 3.1% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.0% of the population."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highland, ... 010_census

Highland Community College is White 69%, Black 13%, Hispanic 6%, Asian 1%, American Indian/Alaskan 3%, Two or more races 7%.
https://www.collegesimply.com/colleges/ ... /students/
Pretty close to the town and would be even closer if one limits the Highland, Kansas stats to college age kids.

By "community" HCC athletic director Bryan Dorrel obviously means the racist White country club community, not the town of Highland, Kansas.
Smith and former assistant coaches Bradford Zinn and Jered Ross are the plaintiffs in the case. Their suit implicates HCC as well as Dorrel, the college's president Deborah Fox and board of trustees member Russell Karn.

The plaintiffs allege that the leadership of HCC wanted to "make Highland white again."

The officials mentioned in the lawsuit wanted HCC to be "a racially homogenous campus with fewer African American athletes," according to the suit.

"The Board selected both Fox and Dorrel despite their glaring lack of qualification for their positions because they enthusiastically agreed to execute the racially discriminatory policies alleged here by aggressively retaliating against coaches, including Plaintiffs, who resisted the administration," the plaintiffs wrote....
Not that it should matter, but one of the three coaches suing and the lawyer representing them are White.

I noticed this story from Friday that reveals upper management at IBM sent emails among themselves explicitly discussing getting rid of older workers. This from a company that at one time was the innovator in computers but now isn't. Sort of the same type of corporate thinking (focusing intently and exclusively on the quarterly earnings statements) that Kodak was sunk by....they totally ignored the trend toward digital cameras, which do not use Kodak film.
