When practically any book can be downloaded, do they really think disposing of a printed hard-copy really matters? I'm suffering a very lower tolerance to fools lately.

Thx Tennishoe.
School library bill advances, sponsor suggests book burning The measure is just one of several proposals introduced in Tennessee this year designed to impose more scrutiny and transparency in public school libraries amid a national spike in book challenges and bans. School librarians have become the target of scorn from Republican lawmakers pushing for more oversight on materials provided to children — particularly those that touch on racism and LGBTQ issues.
Republican Rep. Jerry Sexton, from Bean Station, introduced a last-minute amendment this week to a school bill that would give the state's textbook commission — which is made up of politically appointed members — veto power over what books end up on school library shelves. Schools would have to provide the commission a list of their library materials.

Re: Wingnutties out of control!
Good question on how much of real world effect this would be.
I'm absolutely clueless on how much time is spent by kids or how often books are actually checked out of a school library.

It's in his general vicinity, but it looks to be the very definition of 'backwoods Tennishoe' bordering on eastern Kentucky and West Virginia.billy.pilgrim wrote: ↑Thu Apr 28, 2022 1:46 pm

I read that story earlier today. The guy needs to be stomped for sure. A goddamn Neanderthal hyper "Christian" misguided fucking moron and general purpose fool. Bean Station is somewhere west of me....down toward Knoxville. When I was a kid the place was famous for some sort of horrid car wreck resulting in several dead. Too bad this assholes parents weren't in that crash.billy.pilgrim wrote: ↑Thu Apr 28, 2022 1:46 pmHe's from Bean Station. In general, censored and near-censored books get read more by kids. Hah!

This does not bode well.
But maybe there's hope.

I wonder if that crazy bitch knows red hair is a recessive trait? And that she's bound to become extinct at some point.

Um, nope.neoplacebo wrote: ↑Fri Apr 29, 2022 6:23 pmI wonder if that crazy bitch knows red hair is a recessive trait? And that she's bound to become extinct at some point.
All "recessive" means genetically is that the individual needs two copies of the red hair gene to express it in hair color (as well as skin tone). It's not quite that simple, as there are other genes involved, but that's the basics.
And recessive doesn't mean it's going extinct any time soon.
Here's a little tutorial for your benefit:

Awww. , Useless. So much for "Ignored". You fail again. Plus, Useless, you've been busted too many times for anyone to believe you're not reading my posts, anyhow. It's just your excuse for cowering. Awww.

If the article is about a politician raping a 19 tear old girl, but doesn't indicate which to which party the rapist belongs, does that mean the rapist is a republican.
Kinda like a few years back when newspapers published pictures of blacks in murder coverage and you could bet the articles without pictures were of white murders.

I think Idaho is where they cut off Mr Potato Head's dick and then he became a famous Fox News story. It was a big story at the time.

I thought he was going to skate when the victim fled before she could be cross-examined and the judge threw out all of her testimony. It won't surprise me if a mistrial is declared upon appeal.GoCubsGo wrote: ↑Sat Apr 30, 2022 12:45 amIt's Idaho, maybe they figured it was a given.billy.pilgrim wrote: ↑Sat Apr 30, 2022 12:42 amhttps://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nat ... 589207002/
