Yes and yes! And I know all the players, backups included!
I had to look up Steve Fuller and I still don't remember him at all.

The Super Bowl Shuffle - Huge hit, and the band was all on the team, too. Nice!

Tons of Redskins nickname options have been trademarked by a guy in Virginia

Summary: Philip Martin McCaulay is a greedy asshole and Dan Snyder is an idiot.

Well, we certainly know that last part is true, and has been for years. But I guess it goes to show how determined he was to keep "Redskins" that he didn't even bother to trademark possible alternatives.

New fight song:

We were the Redskins
But not any more
New name on our jersey
Snyder's still a whore.

Jeez, and they're not done testing yet.

Seems like the NFL doesn't have a clue.

Piling on the NFL team formerly known as "Redskins" with accusations of management sexual harassment, minority owners trying to sell, yada, gives me an idea of a team song to replace HTTR:

Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're stiff
Kick 'em all around
Dirty little secrets
Dirty little lies
We got our dirty little fingers in everybody's pie
We love to cut you down to size
We love dirty laundry
We can do "The Innuendo"
We can dance and sing
When it's said and done we haven't told you a thing
We all know that Kraft is king
Give us dirty laundry!

As Washington moves to retire (its current nickname) here's the nickname you liked best

... The frontrunner was RedTails, with 28 percent of 91,936 votes, with Warriors (23 percent) and “other” (20 percent) close behind.

Where does RedTails come from?

... The story of the Tuskegee Airmen, a group of African American fighter pilots in World War II, was told in the 2012 movie “Red Tails.” That’s as close as Washington will get to the old name, while turning a negative into a positive. It would also honor the military, which based on the team’s statement is important in choosing the new name....
IMO, no to the Warriors, but honoring the Tuskegee Airmen would be cool, though there will be some teasing.

"Hogs" 12%. I love it, but it'll only appeal to us old farts like 70 year old John Riggins....
Maybe they should modernize it to "Pigs".

Fifteen women accuse Washington NFL team of sexual harassment

Meh, I don't doubt for a second that harassment occurred, but I'm a bit weary with allegations that come up years after the fact. Yes, I know a lot of women face retaliation for complaining and choose not to in order to keep their job. But the simple fact is, nobody - not the company, not the EEOC, not an attorney - can do anything about an unreported or undocumented complaint. There are probably zero women, at least reasonably attractive ones, who worked anywhere in the 70's, 80's, and some 90's who didn't get uninvited hit on, crude/suggestive comments made about their body parts, their asses patted or "accidental" brushing against their boobs. Some places, industries, offices different from others, some better, some worse, but a pretty much universal problem. So she's got choices: (1) quit; (2) put up with it; (3) file complaint somewhere; (4) shoot the harasser. None of those choices is good, and one might be better than another for a given individual. But once you've made your choice, for whatever personal reasons you have, then move on with your life.

I vote for #4, with specific targeting.

I hear you and perhaps charges and lawsuits are out of the question, but they did get some people fired and it looks like there will be future changes, possibly even including the NFL forcing Snyder to sell. My guess is that the women would not be speaking out now if they didn't think that the problems are ongoing.

Or Washington Acting Presidents . . . but maybe it's best to forget these 4 years altogether.

So maybe the "Washington Redfaces" - or is it no longer acceptable to use that term for embarrassment?

Washington Weasels would be a good one.
But really, I think they should not have any name derived from the politics surrounding DC and should just get a good footballish team name. Wolves, maybe even Red Wolves, something that can be as fun as "da Bears."

Whoever teams hire to come up with names needs to be replaced. Back when Jax and Carolina came into the NFL, they picked "Panthers" for the Carolina team, in a state that in which panthers are extinct, and, instead of giving that name to Jax, where there really are panthers, named the Jax team "Jaguars" even though there have never been any in Florida. And whoever thought "Bills" was clever? And "Ravens" is a cool name, until you realize it's a reference to Poe's Raven, who just sits there and says "nevermore" in lament of his lost Colts.

Think how many times we'd have to hear the announcers exclaiming after a hard hit, "Pop goes the Weasel!"

I like "Red Wolves", but red wolves were extinct in the wild, and certainly have been extinct in the DC area for a long time. The only populations now were reintroduced and they're barely hanging on - northeastern North Carolina and St. Vincent Island in Florida.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_wolf
I'm for anything that might build fondness for endangered species.

Panthers, which are North American cougars, did used to live here and there are rare reports of surviving individuals in the mountains.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_cougar
Plus, the Carolina nickname/logo is a BLACK Panther, which I think is pretty cool. There were some of those here in the 1960s ;) .

I got nothing to say about the "Jaguars" or "Bills", but I think honoring Poe was a great choice. He's also probably one of beleaguered Baltimore's biggest tourist draws.

I think Ravens is a great name. At least until somebody realizes it has great importance in the indigenous culture of the northwest.

Major cultural appropriation - and the Indians had the logo first.
