Had you checked the properties of that photo, you would found I got it from ebaums world. It came from the same gallery that homerfobe got his photo of the dog and the rainbow that he posted in another thread. My picture was funnier.

No biggie. I don't care where you got it. I just thought it was funny that a whole wall of Bud Lite, particularly under a "Craft Beer" sign, was considered by someone other than me to be a major error.

I prefer the term "old-fashioned."

Until the eighteenth century, many Westerners including children drank beer almost continuously. They had to; this was before water filtration and drilled wells. The local creek might be collecting run-off from a field of cattle or sheep or horses upstream.

Folks even began their day with something called "beer soup." (Beer, eggs, butter, salt.) Later, people began each day with a cup of coffee. Some explain the industrial revolution as the inevitable consequence of a world where people suddenly preferred being jittery to being drunk.

Where was the survey? It's interesting because at one time, PBR would have been associated with rednecks and college students looking for cheap beer. More recently, since the PBR brand has returned (but not the beer), it's more associated with hipsters.

I don't really have a stereotypical connotation for Heinekin. Other than if it's free in somebody else's fridge, do rednecks drink Heinekin? And if so, is it just a chaser for Bud Lite?

One of the things it mentioned that I didn't know was that the dry movement was heavily anti-immigrant and groups like the heavily southern Anti-Saloon League were anti-black because, of course, it's those people that drink and cause problems. Sigh, some things never change in America.

It also pointed out that thanks to the Woman's Christian Temperance Union and others Jesus would have been jailed for turning water into wine.
