What are you watching?

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

I thought 17 years seemed short, but just chalked it up to my senility.

E1 - Jordan, and throughout, naturally.
E2 - Pippen
E3 - Rodman, and more Pippen. I'm happy.
E4 - Phil Jackson. Also cool.

I like how they're going back decades while progressing through both the Jordan era and the 1997–98 season, January so far.

Lotta reruns through the week, folks.

My pops basically died because of our shit healthcare system. Long story short he has some health issues but had no health insurance and was poor, so he self treated his symptoms and never got it checked out. It eventually got really bad so he went to the emergency room (NJ has charity care, or something like that for poor folks when they go to the emergency room. Don't know the exact details to be honest...) and found out he had lung cancer which spread throughout his body. He was able to get on Medicaid and started treatment but died a few months after that. Luckily NJ's Medicaid helps with cremation (the only state to do so we were told) so he got cremated and we paid for a funeral for him.

USA! USA!
Yes, there's an entire generation of pre-baby boomers in America who got less than adequate health care primarily because of our piece-meal employer-based health insurance scheme. And it's still going on. What other first world nation treats its citizens to the specter or "medical bankruptcy" ?

PS-My mom's ashes were mostly sprinkled in the bay off the Marin headlands. I saved some, which have been sitting on my mantle in a hand-crafted urn for the past decade or so. My dad, thanks to his service, is buried in a veteran's cemetery.
We are such self-sufficient individuals that we rarely need health care; therefore, we rarely need health insurance.

Dad's ashes went back to the farm, except for a little that we each kept. I've got him secured in the large end of his favorite jigger.

University of South Alabama hasn't returned Mom yet. They say it takes up to 2 years before they use the body.

Just watched series finale Homeland. It was OK, perhaps a bit unbelievable at the end, but WTF do I know (WTFDIK)?

Back to Breaking Bad. Up to 4th season now.
Never watched Homeland, but might give it a try after I finish Foyle's War.

I highly recommend Homeland. Eight seasons of excellent acting and writing. It's fictional but with enough substance to make one stop and wonder at times.
I plan to watch.

Foyle's War seems to be wrapped around enough accurate history of the UK during WWII to make it an interesting who done it series.

We've been talking about it for over a week:

That was just GoCubsGo's shorthand to drop "The".

It's spelled "It's".

Probably johnnyb couldn't find an available apostrophe because so many people have been creating a shortage by hoarding them to use in places like:
