Wingnutties out of control!

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Reminder: Trump's VP Mike Pence is also a nutjob. It's just that he's a nutjob by the pre-Trump standard.

And the link above only scratches the surface, when you look at his policies as congressman and governor.

... Cooper’s office has defended abortion restrictions adopted by the General Assembly, vouchers, the attempt to phase out teacher tenure, several redistricting cases, the magistrate opt-out law, the attempt to change how sitting Supreme Court justices are elected and more. Cooper said his office would not defend House Bill 2, the LGBT law passed in March....
In the past five years, lawmakers passed legislation that allows them to hire their own attorneys, even when Cooper’s office was on the case. In five years, they have run up a $9.3 million legal bill, according to legislative records. WRAL-TV reported the total is more than 20 times what the legislature spent on outside counsel in the decade prior.

That total does not include what the governor paid private attorneys representing his office. The governor’s office has not provided records of those costs, which The News & Observer requested in March....
“In the face of spurious explanations for public policies that would foreseeably inflict real damage on identifiable groups of people, judges and justices are abandoning the traditional diffidence of the judicial role,” Greenhouse wrote.

“Legislators, perhaps assuming they had friends in high judicial places, had taken bold, even flagrant steps to suppress the black vote and restrict women’s access to abortion. Judges responded, and even though their actions in some cases spoke more loudly than their words, these decisions mark a departure and make a difference.”

At the Little Red Barn Steakhouse in San Antonio, Texas, all the waiters wear guns and holsters.

But everybody knows they’re fake, which is probably why a disgruntled customer decided he could safely take a swing at a waiter who messed up his order.

But the waiter fetched a real gun and fired shots into the ceiling.

But the waiter could lose his job since it's against restaurant company policy for employees to carry (real) guns, despite all the waiters wearing (fake) guns and holsters.

So, not so much Texas as a Texas theme park within Texas. Not to be confused with CPAC and Republican rallies where everyone demands guns in schools and theaters and businesses but not in the venues where they're making those demands.

I love stories where everyone involved - Texans, the waiters, the customers, the restaurant and possibly the cook - are idiots.

Texass is an endless source of such bullshit.

Another win for the good guys - Republicans handed their asses again in Supreme refusal to stay lower court's totally reaming decision on the mess of voter suppression laws called euphemistically "Voter ID." It would be a bit scary that it was 4-4, but they weren't ruling on the law itself - only the request for a stay pending further appeal.

Compared to 1968 this is barely in the news. Maybe things are getting better, or more likely worse, but they are cray about more things, therefore less focused

I thought so too despite feeling that Kaepernick is doing a bit of grandstanding because:
Black or white people get shot when they pull a weapon on a LEO ...
Black or white people get shot when a nervous LEO thinks they have a weapon because the victim(s) got confrontational ...
Black or white people get shot by LEO's when the LEO shoots first and ask questions later ...
LEO's get fired and/or prosecuted when it is DETERMINED they acted out of fear instead of rationale ...
Whites get shot by LEO's too; not so much is heard about those shootings because of media hype ...
Black shootings sell more papers and make for higher viewer ratings of news programs ...
Looting, burning, and civil disorder is not protesting ...

I modified your list a little so as to agree with you, Seth ---

Sometimes,
Black or white people get shot when they pull a weapon on a LEO ...
Whites get shot by LEO's too;[although much less than their proportion of the population] not so much is heard about those shootings because of media hype ...
Black shootings [would] sell more papers and make for higher viewer ratings of news programs ...[if anybody bought papers from newstands anymore or depended on news programs for their information]
Looting, burning, and civil disorder is not [always] protesting ...
