Other than the standard GOP anti-tax, anti-adequate spending fare, my impression of Haley is pretty good. What do y'all think? she looks better than SC Lt. Gov. Henry McMaster.

As Republicans go, I like Nikki Heat. I'd rather have had her for governor in NC vs. McCrory if we had to have a Republican. But let's look at her resume. Before being governor, she was in the SC legislature, but otherwise her experience is in accounting in her family's (large) business. She's done a decent job as governor, but if you look at her compared to the current https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samantha_Power or to many of the previous people in the job https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_St ... ed_Nations she seems a bit weak. Not surprising as a Trump nominee, though, since qualifications don't seem to matter and women are mainly for decoration. I'll bet if Nikki looked like, for example, Rebel Wilson she wouldn't have been selected.

A guess is that her "qualifications" are that she's got immigrant parents, she's GOP and she's willing to work under Trump. Could also be that he'd rather have a more reliable sycophant as SC Gov.

Trump said during the campaign the UN is worthless and "no friend of the US". All Republicans have always talked about getting rid of the Department of Education and Uncle Ben Carson, the likely head of HUD has called it "like a failed socialist experiment," not to mention that he's declared himself unqualified to head a government agency. And now, when the agencies fall into the terlet, Trump and the Republicans can blame the women and the black guy. Is this a great country or what?
