Brady has the rings, so makes a persuasive case for GOAT, but it's not a unanimous opinion.

Okay, maybe call Brees 2nd GOATest, still amazing.

It's a little ironic since he was with world famous fossil fuel consumer Danica Patrick before her. Talk about a rebound!

Nothing else on, I caught her on Fallon. I learned 3 things:

She's working with Patagonian 100% sustainable eyewear folks.
When they got together she knew that he was a guy "who throws balls", but not what AARON RODGERS is to the sport. Thanks to COVID-19 she has still never been to a game.
She stars in The Mauritanian with Jodie Foster, Tahar Rahim and Benedict Cumberbatch.
The film follows Mohamedou Ould Salahi (Rahim), who is captured by the U.S. government and is languishing in Guantanamo Bay detention camp without charge or trial. Losing all hope, Salahi finds allies in defense attorney Nancy Hollander (Foster) and her associate Teri Duncan (Woodley). Together, they face countless obstacles in a desperate pursuit for justice. Their controversial advocacy, along with fabricated evidence uncovered by formidable military prosecutor, Lt. Colonel Stuart Couch (Cumberbatch), eventually reveals a shocking and far-reaching conspiracy.
Mohamedou Ould Salahi (Arabic: محمدو ولد الصلاحي‎) (born December 21, 1970) is a Mauritanian who was detained at Guantánamo Bay detention camp without charge from 2002 until his release on October 17, 2016.

... He was detained for seven days and questioned by Mauritanian officers and by agents of the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

The CIA then transported Salahi to a Jordanian prison through its extraordinary rendition program; he was held for eight months. Salahi said he was tortured by the Jordanians. After being flown to Afghanistan and held for two weeks, he was transferred to military custody and the Guantánamo Bay detention camp in Cuba on August 4, 2002.

Salahi was subjected to sleep deprivation, isolation, temperature extremes, beatings and sexual humiliation at Guantánamo. In one documented incident, he was blindfolded and taken out to sea in a boat for a mock execution. Lt. Col Stuart Couch refused to prosecute Salahi in a Military Commission in 2003. He said that "Salahi's incriminating statements—the core of the government's case—had been taken through torture, rendering them inadmissible under U.S. and international law."

In 2010, Judge James Robertson granted a writ of habeas corpus, ordering Salahi to be released on March 22. In his unclassified opinion, Judge Robertson wrote: "... associations alone are not enough, of course, to make detention lawful." The Department of Justice appealed the decision. The D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals vacated the ruling and remanded the case to the District Court on November 5, 2010, for further factual findings. The District Court never held the second habeas hearing.

On July 14, 2016, Salahi was approved by a Periodic Review Board for release from detention. Salahi was freed and returned to Mauritania on October 17, 2016; he was imprisoned at Guantánamo for over fourteen years.
Pretty cool. Funny, but I think that Woodley may be more radical than Colin Kaepernick. Good for Rodgers.

I recently rewatched The Descendants starring George Clooney and Shailene Woodley. Actually didn't realize it was her and her film debut until afterwards.

George taught her well. She's been busy for a 29 year old.

Still don't think she and Rodgers are gonna make it.
Woodley is an avid environmental activist[65] and climate advocate.[66] With her mother, she co-founded the All it Takes non-profit organization in 2010. All it Takes is a youth leadership program that aims to educate young people to practice empathy, compassion, responsibility, and purpose in hopes to foster sustainable, positive change for themselves, others and the environment.[67] She supported Bernie Sanders for president in 2016 and 2020.[68]

In 2016, she protested against the Dakota Access Pipeline, an underground petroleum transport pipeline. In October, she was arrested for criminal trespassing in Saint Anthony, North Dakota.[69][70][71] Woodley pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a year of probation.[72][73]

In mid-2016, Woodley joined the board of Our Revolution, a political organization aimed to educate voters about issues,[74][75] get people involved in the political process, and work to organize and elect progressive leaders.[76][77]

On September 29, 2016, Woodley was honored at the 20th Anniversary Global Green Environmental Awards receiving the Entertainment Industry Environmental Leadership Award for co-founding All it Takes. In October 2016, she was given the Female EMA Futures Award during the 26th Annual Environmental Media Association (EMA) Awards.[78]

In 2018, Woodley took activist Calina Lawrence to the 75th Golden Globe Awards as her guest; they first met at Standing Rock while protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline.[79][80]

In July 2019, Woodley became an Oceans Ambassador for Greenpeace and embarked on a three-week-long expedition to the Sargasso Sea to study the impact of plastics and microplastics on marine life, and to document the importance of this unique ecosystem for protection under a new global ocean treaty that is being negotiated at the United Nations.[81]

Good reviews, and a bunch of nominations for Woodley. I'll have to watch it sometime, thanks.

Could be. He will age out of his profession before she does and that might be stressful.
Here's an article about and clip from her Fallon appearance last night:
Shailene Woodley engaged to Aaron Rodgers, says she's 'still learning' about football
"I never thought I’d be engaged to someone who throws balls for a living," Woodley laughed.

...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8n-BpIyNYU

... “When I first met him … my dog pulled me aside and was like, ‘If you don’t date this dude, I will disown you as my mother because the three feet I run with you when you throw a ball is nothing compared to the marathon I’m able to run with him,'" she joked....

Funny you mention that.
FTA above:
... “When we met, I knew he was a football guy but I never knew what kind of a football guy he was ... I am still constantly learning."

“Because I don’t know him as the football guy!” Woodley explained. “I know him as like, the nerd who wants to host ‘Jeopardy!’ That’s the guy I know. He just happens to also be very good at sports.”

Incidentally, Rodgers will get his “Jeopardy!” wish — he’s one of several upcoming guest hosts that have been announced following the death of Alex Trebek....
Hi, my name is Aaron and my dream is to host Jeopardy. I also kinda like sports.

Give Brady credit for a great season, but not for this game. GOAT Brees lost it and the Buccs D won it. The Saints have now blown 3 home playoff games in a row. It'll be a shame if that was Brees' final encore.

Yup. :(
Sadly, as good as he was he was the bridesmaid too many times to be considered the GOAT.

Happily, he'll walk right into a TV booth and be very successful.

Loved watching him play, not the biggest in stature, not the biggest arm by any means but he had great vision, anticipation and was uncannily accurate and that was enough.

Sadly, Kaepernick will not be getting a job in the NFL again.

John Madden famously said "if you've got two quarterbacks you don't have any".

Never more true than in Chicago.

:?: Dalton is a TCU grad.

I found this funny anecdote:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Dalton#Personal_life
Dalton and his wife have founded the Andy & Jordan Dalton Foundation, which aims to help families and children in need. After Dalton helped the Bengals defeat the Baltimore Ravens in Week 17 of the 2017 season, which allowed the Buffalo Bills to enter the playoffs, many Bills fans donated to his foundation in gratitude for helping their team snap their 17-year playoff drought. In less than a week, donations exceeded $360,000 from over 16,000 donors. Most donations were in the amount of $17, which symbolized the 17-year playoff drought that ended with the Bengals' victory over the Ravens. Dalton and his wife thanked Buffalo Bills fans by renting five billboards in Buffalo area that read "Thank you Buffalo and good luck."
