Sedition

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

I'm wondering why AF spokes"woman" would say that the AF no longer has jurisdiction over him. He's wearing his military pants and jacket with his military patches. On a hunch, I googled and became more confused.

"All veterans and retired members will conform with the same standards of appearance, military customs, practices, and conduct in uniform prescribed for active-duty.

Prohibited Places and Events for Military Uniforms

There are some places and events where the uniform is prohibited to be worn by discharged and retired members of the military. These include:

At any meeting or demonstration which is anti-government in nature."

https://www.thebalancecareers.com/milit ... ive%2Dduty.

https://www.militarytimes.com/news/your ... t-affirms/

Based on this article from 2/19, he can be busted down in rank or penalized in some way for just being at the outside Insurrection rally in uniform.

And they should be able to hold him accountable for breaking into the Capitol building.

But then I saw another article from 8/19 that sorta said there would be changes, but Wikipedia (might have this right) sure made it seem like he should be court-martialed.
Retired Lieutenant Colonel Is Unlikely to Face Court-Martial in Capitol Riot, Experts Say

"Unlikely". It's complicated, and it's not impossible. We may just have to settle for the civilian charges and penalties.

Active-Duty Troops Who Participated in the Capitol Siege Could Face These Penalties

Joint Chiefs of Staff call Capitol riot 'sedition and insurrection,' remind troops of oath

I'm not sure that I've seen America so universally pissed off at a few extremists since 9/11. Great job, Dolt .45, Cruz, Hawley, Gaetz, Cawthorn, Solar, Taxed, etc.

Aren't these the descendants of the same people who bash "appeasement" of Hitler? As if there is going to be any "unity and healing" as long as Trump is around stirring the pot. Fuckem all.

Republican against impeachment:

"Democrats endorsed violence in endorsing BLM, the very thing they're arguing Trump did."

False equavalency conflating BLM protests with looters and rioters, which as far as I'm aware they didn't support.

In any case, no denial of Trump inciting the Capitol Riots, just more whataboutism.

I'm so sick of Republicans arguing that we need to heal, and that impeachment is divisive to America.

What has Trump been doing in a very, very, transparent manner many times over the last few years? Inciting all types of divisiveness.

Fwiw, I'm not signing the many impeachment petitions I'm getting. Idk if it's a good tactic or not. We'll see.

It was so healing that 140+ of them planned to contest the vote that has been investigated in every way for 2 months.

I suggest that I will feel more healed when gaetz, ghomert, tuberville, boebart, -green and several others are expelled from the House and Senate. Fucking treasonous assholes.

And especially those who were shoving and screaming about their liburtys at the cop trying to do his job and get them to walk through the metal detector at the House.
The idea of allowing these Qfolk to carry guns into the House Chamber is as insane as the whole Qthing.

So picture a person in the army who is about to retire or end his enlistment, who decides with only a few weeks to go that it's a good time to assault the commanding officer. How many people think the army would just say, "he's leaving in a couple of weeks anyway, it's too much bother to court martial him."

Idk what their reasoning is or whether I'd agree with it, but one difference is the often serious civilian charges these traitors will face. That said, maybe courts martial are needed in order to cancel pensions, VA and other bennies.
Trump supporter dead in suspected suicide days after being arrested at Capitol riot

... A medical examiner in Fulton County, Atlanta, ruled on Tuesday that the death of Christopher Stanton Georgia was by suicide, confirming earlier reports.

The 53-year-old was also said to have suffered a “gunshot wound to the chest”, the medical examiner said.

He was found by his wife in the basement of their home in Alpharetta, Georgia, on Saturday, according to reports.

Georgia, who was said to have been a regional portfolio manager at a North Carolina bank, was arrested in Washington DC on Wednesday evening after taking part in the riot on the Capitol.

According to the Washington Examiner, he was charged with attempting to break into the US Capitol alongside supporters of the US president....

The FBI said on Tuesday that more than 70 people had been arrested in relation to Wednesday’s riot, with federal prosecutors expecting “hundreds” of others.

Jesus what an idiot.
Speaking to the Smoky Mountain News a day after the violence, Cawthorn said he was on the House floor when lawmakers were notified to evacuate as a mob of Trump supporters began to pour into the Capitol.

“Fortunately, I was armed, so we would have been able to protect ourselves,” Cawthorn told the publication.
Yeah, he had them surrounded.

Yeah, he had them surrounded.
A 1967 regulation exempts members of Congress from a federal law banning firearms on the Capitol grounds, though the weapons are still banned on the House floor.

“Fortunately". I wonder what sort of fantasies does he have about being able to protect people with his little gun.

During his fit yesterday at being frisked he automatically went to claiming it was against the Americans with Disabilities Act. I'm guess that he uses same to carry on planes.
He's the type.

I hope this clown doesn't become a media darling just because he says so much stupid stuff. C'mon, he's an unqualified, uneducated freshman Repug congressman in a Dem majority house. His office will be next to the freight elevator and the only committee he'll be on will be as an alternate on the Pick Up Pelosi's Dry Cleaning Sub-Committee.

If trump "heals" him by the laying on of hands or the brandishing of snakes and Madison rises from his wheelchair and takes a jog around the block, I will be impressed.
