Re: The Religion Thread
Flash update; there's a website named Christian Mingle that says they will facilitate finding "God's match for you." I think this is just fantastic and thought I'd pass it along to anyone who's interested. You're welcome. And I would be curious to know if anyone has any experience with this, and what the end result tended to be; love, murder, loathing, the shocking realization of what hypocrisy actually is, etc.

The infamous Date Jesus website: http://www.datejesus.comO Really wrote:Of course, there's always the possibility that God has listed his/her match for you on JDate... http://www.jdate.com/
This guy used to own the domain jesus.com but sold out to some Christian organization that I'm assuming offered him a chunk of change. Not a bad site really. Some interesting writings.

Re: The Religion Thread
I think a Mexican drug cartel bought that guy out; they have lots of guys named Jesus, so it sure makes sense for them to do it. Hell, every other day I see here in town that Jesus has been arrested for anything from drunk driving to assault and battery. Most of these cases never go to trial; it's a miracle I guess.JTA wrote:The infamous Date Jesus website: http://www.datejesus.comO Really wrote:Of course, there's always the possibility that God has listed his/her match for you on JDate... http://www.jdate.com/

Man you know what you're probably right. This is just some Mexican guy trying to find his soul mate. Unfortunately he looks like a Nordic Jesus, so everyone (myself included) assumed it was a guy pretending to be Jesus, when it's really just a Mexican guy named Jesus.neoplacebo wrote:I think a Mexican drug cartel bought that guy out; they have lots of guys named Jesus, so it sure makes sense for them to do it. Surrre....Sara Bean has been the subject of other's "sex lives" this entire thread...got it. Why don't you find Ms. Bean's local newspaper and post a comment on this story saying "Serves her right, (Sara) Bean got beaned for living in sin."Vrede wrote:"I mocked the faithful obsessed with others' sex lives, not her."
You've both screwed up, and been dishonest, again.

Re: The Religion Thread
Here's honest; Sara got beaned because she was in the wrong place at the wrong time; it wasn't a miracle or even close. The priest could just as well have been beaned by the gargoyle chunk. I wonder what he would have thought about that.bannination wrote:Probably plenty of Christians already doing that.Mr.B wrote:Surrre....Sara Bean has been the subject of other's "sex lives" this entire thread...got it. Your "dishonesty" surfaces yet again.....you were obviously mocking the death of Ms. Bean by using a play of words on her name...."Bean got beaned".Vrede wrote: "I can't have been mocking her and was obviously mocking Church Lady's like you. Now, about your dishonest editing to disguise my clear intent?"
Why don't you man up and stop lying through your teeth?

Re: The Religion Thread
I don't believe God beaned Bean, but it does bring up an interesting question. What do church-goes say when their church is hit by lightning and burns to the ground? God took a shot at us? Or God helped us because nobody got roasted? God wasn't paying attention? God never liked the decor in that church anyway? I see on the news all the time that somebody gets into an accident and, upon climbing out of what used to be their car, says, "I could have been killed - God was looking out for me." My (real) question is, where was God when the truck was bearing down on him in the first place? To have any type of logic, one has to believe that either (a) God caused the accident; or (b) God wasn't paying attention.

Re: The Religion Thread
If I were religious, I would find it highly offensive when somebody wins and credits God for his success. The only way to interpret that is that he's saying to the other participants, "God likes me better than you."

Re: The Religion Thread
How many remarks from Christians did you read about blaming Ms. Bean's deadly accident on "her sins"? You deliberately took the occasion of her being killed by a piece of falling structure from a church, and being so full of blame and hate for Christians, that you attempted to turn her tragic death into a laughing matter....nothing more and nothing less.Vrede wrote: "And, it's about your running away from how Christians routinely blame the victims of accidents or natural disasters if there's any blemish on their Christian-defined "morality". Why don't you man up about your ilk?"
You said: (You were) "noting an ironic name"...meaning you chose the word "beaned", meaning you had all intent to ridicule her death using a play of words with her name. :gthumb:
Your whiny, sniveling, repetitive denial is noted, regardless how many times you try to run away and shift the blame of your callousness on me.
