Sure, let them howl. Then block off the streets and hit them all with the vax when they try to get out. I truly do not give a rat's ass about their ummm, "opinion" or perceived "rights." Shoot 'em now, deal with the lawsuits later. So a few lawyers get new bigger boats off of defence of baseless frivolous suits. Fine. It's worth it.

Response to non-vaxxer's angst should be more like:
Non-vaxxer: "Oppression! Over-reach! Commies gonna not let us out of our houses! Gonna raid our houses and give us shots!"
Us: "Fuck yes - deal with it."

Aside: Marie Oakes is kinda hot.
No argument here. I just think that sane society has responded pretty well. Who could have predicted how easily manipulated and stupid the vocal minority would be in the face of 670K deaths? Even after years of Trumpism, I'm a little shocked.O Really wrote: ↑Sat Sep 11, 2021 2:46 pmResponse to non-vaxxer's angst should be more like:O Really wrote: ↑Sat Sep 11, 2021 2:41 pmSure, let them howl. It truly is unbelievable that people would protest a vaccine for a novel (that means new) virus that quite possibly could kill them or people they know. I hope I die soon. I can't take much more of this crazy shit.

white men need more constructive hobbies
I took up mead making and owning a snake.
I also see pirates and vikings - this video has it all!
Great minds . . .Very few women

I take no comfort in the knowledge that we aren't the only country with a bunch of raging morons living amongst us. No comfort at all.
Okay, maybe just a tiny bit of comfort. Just a little. Now I have to follow you.Same.
Ignorance is a worldwide pandemic
It kills no matter what language you speakIgnorance is when you don't know and it's not your fault.
These people know, but make a choice not to do the right thing, making it totally their fault!
This is ridiculous, no matter where it's happening.
Wow, that makes me even sadder.History is on repeat.
Somehow we must break the cycle of ignorance.

Re: Coronavirus
One could look at the fact that Trump was elected and determine pretty easily that there are a lot of easily manipulated and stupid people in the country. But it is surprising that the vaccine itself became the defining issue of the moon-barking trumpists since Trump did in fact play a positive role in encouraging, funding, and clearing the way for the vaccine development - and took credit for even more than he did for a while. Seems that would have set the context for trumpists that wouldn't be so easily flipped. Either way, IMNVHO, politicization of the vaccine should just simply have not been acceptable to "the rest of us." By that, I mean those attempting to do so should have been ignored, not treated as a valid alternative thought.
Had I been an employer or CEO of MegaHuge, Inc. I would have started back in late 2020 before there actually was a vaccine yet. I'd make video talks, send out emails, texts, and tweets that "we're really looking forward to the availability of the vaccine, and will do all we can to support all our people being vaccinated as soon as they are eligible. This is the way we all get back to a normal life. Yada." If employees asked "what if..." questions, the answer would always be, "We expect all our employees to be vaccinated. If there are unusual or unique circumstances that affect an individual person, we will address it at the time, but ultimately our goal is 100%." I'd never waver, never get drawn down the rabbit hole of whatever phoney-baloney "objections" anybody has.

Biden is frustrated? I'm frustrated. He is still missing the mark on COVID-19.

Another doctor came out strongly on vaccine mandates: While there are steps that can be taken to encourage people to get vaccinated, he said, the only thing that will knock this virus out for good are strong, unequivocal nationwide mandates.

It really is a sad commentary on how social media seems to have made a significant portion of the populace dip down into an extreme level of ignorance. I remember when nobody objected to getting the polio vaccine in the 50's. Now people are acting like it's akin to a blatant attack on their "rights".
Idioten.

For example, someone posting "Well, that could be arranged ..." Irony.
Actually,
1950–1955: Safety incidents
In April 1955, soon after mass polio vaccination began in the US, the Surgeon General began to receive reports of patients who contracted paralytic polio about a week after being vaccinated with Salk polio vaccine from the Cutter pharmaceutical company, with the paralysis limited to the limb the vaccine was injected into. The Cutter vaccine had been used in vaccinating 200,000 children in the western and midwestern United States. Later investigations showed that the Cutter vaccine had caused 40,000 cases of polio, killing 10. In response the Surgeon General pulled all polio vaccines made by Cutter Laboratories from the market, but not before 250 cases of paralytic illness had occurred. Wyeth polio vaccine was also reported to have paralyzed and killed several children. It was soon discovered that some lots of Salk polio vaccine made by Cutter and Wyeth had not been properly inactivated, allowing live poliovirus into more than 100,000 doses of vaccine. In May 1955, the National Institutes of Health and Public Health Services established a Technical Committee on Poliomyelitis Vaccine to test and review all polio vaccine lots and advise the Public Health Service as to which lots should be released for public use. These incidents reduced public confidence in polio vaccine, leading to a drop in vaccination rates.
Agreed.

What can be arranged? My death? And how can it be arranged if you're not volunteering but insinuate that you'd arrange another to kill me? Is this the same sort of logic you used out at the hummingbird torture chamber? ......it (death) can be arranged (with electricity) but you're not volunteering, and instead will sit back and let the electrons do the direct, current (a pun) work? Maybe you should run for office as a Republican. They like shit that makes no sense, and they especially like shit that is subliminally threatening or even overtly threatening.Ulysses wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 9:29 pmWell, that could be arranged but I'm not volunteering.neoplacebo wrote: ↑Sat Sep 11, 2021 4:16 pmIt truly is unbelievable that people would protest a vaccine for a novel (that means new) virus that quite possibly could kill them or people they know. People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered. Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives. Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies. Succeed anyway.

You're NOT funny, Useless, pick a different hobby. "I do wish you could develop" the stones to apologize when you screw up and offend rather than always blaming someone else like a Trump does.
Oh, and fwiw, neoplacebo is probably the funniest among us and you've even lauded his "sense of humor" recently, whiny goofball.

Trump: “We had the safest border in the history of our country - or at least recorded history. I guess maybe a thousand years ago it was even better.”
