Monkeys still on the loose in South Carolina as authorities scramble to recapture them

Forty-three monkeys, who escaped their facility in South Carolina, were still on the loose Friday morning, the Yemassee Police Department told USA TODAY, though they had been located and efforts were being made to recapture them.

The rhesus macaques primates, described as "very young females weighing approximately 6 - 7 lbs," escaped from Alpha Genesis, a primate research facility in Yemassee, a small town about 26 miles from Beaufort, around 1 p.m. Wednesday, the Yemassee Police Department said in 5:50 p.m. advisory Thursday....
:o This is how Planet of the Apes started  :problem:

Democrats turn on Moo Deng after she accurately predicts Donald Trump's presidential win

Moo Deng, the adorably sassy pigmy hippo from Thailand, landed in hot water with Democrats after she accurately predicted the outcome of this year's U.S. presidential election.

The viral sensation cast her "vote" on Monday, choosing her candidate from two fruit and veggie cakes, one with Vice President Kamala Harris' name on it and the other with Trump's....

It didn't take long for Moo Deng to make up her mind, choosing to munch and crunch on the Trump cake, according to a video posted to X by Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Thailand's Chonburi province. Moo Deng's mother, on the other hand, chose the Harris cake.

Social media, particularly X, has not been a particularly friendly or welcoming place for Moo Deng, or her supporters in the past 36 hours.

Some Democrats have come for the global treasure, writing mean messages, hurling insults and even threatening violence after Harris lost.
Boo hiss :x
Others have to come Moo Deng's defense.

She is a baby hippo after all.

Image

... The pigmy hippo whose name means "bouncing pig" drew the attention and captured the hearts of social media users in September because of her cute features and sassy personality. Her "clumsy adventures" were posted by zoo visitors on social media, where she and her family have built a relatively large fanbase....

How quickly everyone turns once you make it political 😂
The hate on moo deng is becoming insane
Moo Deng more accurate than @AllanLichtman
Stop being mean to moo deng 😭 not her fault she can predict the future.. she isnt even an american citizen 😭😭😭😭😭😭
PREDICTED DOESNT MEAN ENDORSED STAY AWAY FROM MY GIRL
Are people trolling or they actually mad at the hungryhungryhippo?
so glad i never liked her
she didn’t predict-she decided
:o More tweets at the link.

These Dems are just angry that Bouncing Pig is smarter than us. Just look at her, they'll lose this fight, too.

This is exactly how some horror movies begin:

At the park close to us, the squirrels chase the dogs. At least the smaller ones. And small kids occasionally. They are still mad they didn't get the job instead of the rabbits in "Holy Grail"

They probably catch one about as often as the dogs/kids catch squirrels which is basically never.

Don't tell that to my dog.

Six last year, two the year before and two this year.

You've got a very quick dog or slow squirrels. Does your dog sneak up on them?

LOL

Both.

He can run like crazy and is Border Cillie agile.

He usually starts out in full chase mode then transitions to stalk and hunt and is very stealthy. But he's only caught them in fall during the feeding frenzy and when they're focused on caching acorns.

What distracted squirrel can possibly hope to defend itself against "Border Cillie agile"? :o

Pleistocene Park ?
DNA tech is at or near the point of enabling the creation of woolly mammoth hybrids. Some scientists argue that humans causing or contributing to mammoth extinction make it morally acceptable or even mandated to bring the mammoth back. What do you think, should we?

My opinion:
Spoiler:
If Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum are on board, so am I.

It's proven that humans hunted mammoths. The open question is how much that added to the population's demise. If significant, the argument is that we should undo the harm.

2 Dead As Search For Sasquatch Takes Tragic Turn
Volunteers "fought through freezing temperatures, snow, high water levels, heavy rain, downfall, and heavily wooded terrain" to find the pair, said authorities.
Spoiler:
Sasquatch didn't kill the fools.
... They were located “in a heavily wooded area” and “both deaths appear to be due to exposure, based on weather conditions and ill-preparedness,” said the sheriff’s office....
Or was it Sasquatch, indirectly?
