On the bright side, we can look forward to four more years of Michelle Obama speeches from the next First Lady.

Indeed. No matter, he's run back to his "safe space" CPF nanny forum where he doesn't have to deal with people that are smarter, more honest, better informed, less gullible and more competent at research than he is.

I can hardly wait......Guiliani as Attorney General......Jeff Sessions as Secretary of Defense......Sarah Palin as Secretary of the Interior......John Bolton as Secretary of State......some asshole straight from the boardroom of Goldman Sachs as Secretary of the Treasury......Newt Gingrich as National Security Advisor and marriage counselor.....Chris Christie as anchor for the Seventh Fleet. It's gonna be a cornucopia of catastrophe. But I just know you'll love it.

Yep, your "people" won this round.

David Duke: Trump win a great victory for 'our people'

Of course, there's not much evidence that Trump will adopt traditional con policy, but you racists/perpetual white victims, xenophobes, neofascists, sexual assaulters and other misogynists have something to cheer about.

Lowest voter turnout since 2000, largely because blacks stayed home. In other words, this was less about fundamental change than some think.

Let's see, Trump's con & Christian credentials are very suspect, he's more liberal than Hillary on some issues like trade, Congress is more Dem, NC is significantly more Dem, and liberal ballot measures generally did great - What exactly is he (and Mr.B?) gloating about? I previously wrote...
rstrong wrote:When you hear about the US sending $Billions in aid to other countries, that aid often comes with a condition: It must be spent on goods and services from American military contractors. The taxpayers aren't subsidizing the foreign country; they're subsidizing American corporations. (Who in turn subsidize the election campaigns of those who approved the aid.)

Trump could easily get Mexico to pay for a wall in the same way.
It turns out that Trump actually has a better plan:

Politifact: How Trump plans to build, and pay for, a wall along U.S.-Mexico border
Trump says he would introduce a "proposed rule" amending a code of federal financial regulation to include money transfer companies in the definition of financial institutions. He would also redefine "account" to include wire transfers. The desired result: No immigrant would be able to send money outside the United States unless they show documentation proving their legal status.
Trump says Mexico receives an estimated $24 billion a year in remittances from people in the United States, and that the majority comes from undocumented immigrants. While the $24 billion amount adds up, experts have said it’s hard to tell how much of it is sent by undocumented immigrants.
[...]
"It's an easy decision for Mexico: make a one-time payment of $5 (billion)-10 billion to ensure that $24 billion continues to flow into their country year after year,"
Of course the wall would cost far more then Trump's estimate and would be as ineffective as the existing wall in the west. And his win tanked Mexico's currency, making it harder for them to pay. And it might be hard to explain to his crowd the little logic problem in his plan: It means tacit approval of all those illegal immigrants staying in the US.

So, the effect would be an expansion of federal financial regulation on everyone, fine with me, and the potentially affected targets will just use money black markets.
billy.pilgrim wrote:You left out suckersale's love for corporate welfare
I don't think Obama did much about that and it's unclear what Trump will do. For better or worse we're not dealing with GOP business as usual.

The election cycle handed America four main choices: A Democrat (Bernie), a traditional Republican (Hillary), an anti-Republican-establishment Tea Party candidate (Cruz), and an anti-Republican-establishment Alt Right candidate (Trump).

The Alt-Right won. The Republican Party may be the biggest loser here. If Trump had lost, the traditional Republicans (other than Hillary, of course) might have taken back the party. But now it's the Trump party.

Yeah, it was a good night for racists/perpetual white victims, xenophobes, neofascists, sexual assaulters and other misogynists, but Supsalemgr always claimed to be a traditional Republican. Is he (and Mr.B?) outing himself as really being in the basket of deplorables, instead?

In their defense it's about more than Republicanism; it's also about defending Christian faith. Hillary is merely a regular church-goer with a strong religious background. The Bible Belt wanted a bikini contest-running casino owner who would grab Christian Family Values by the pussy.

Another silver lining:

Clinton on pace to win popular vote, despite losing election

More Americans have voted Dem for POTUS in 6 of the last 7 elections.
... Just two days before Election Day, Republican businessman Donald Trump tweeted: "The Electoral College is a disaster for a democracy." ...
Wise man.

Great, so if he's undoing Obama, we can look forward to higher unemployment, more government spending, more uninsured people.

EDIT:
Oh yeah, and large scale terrorist attacks.
