Today on “The 700 Club,” Pat Robertson insisted that he and others have the power to raise the dead, but lamented that people these days are withholding this special skill.
Mr. B?? You've had the powers to raise the dead this whole time and you've not told us???

Yep....pulled a good'un on my wife, I did!

I saw part of the movie...dumb; and I agree with your assessment of Robertson.
As far as risks involved with "raising the dead", well......that's another matter. I'll have my wife call you and explain!

Dear Mr. B
Please bring my pet gerbil back. My cat bit off its head about 20 years ago. Pls do the needful Mr. B... pls.
Warm regards, JTA.
You aren't doing it wrong if no one knows what you are doing.
The difference in watching the "Pet Semantery" movie vs. reading the book is about the same as reading the Bible vs. watching "Passion of Christ." Very few Stephen King books managed to translate well into film.

Here's a hint: "On top of 'ol Smokey.....all covered in grass,
I stood in cold water......up to my knees"
"Hey..that don't make no sense...it don't even rhyme!"

"The water wutten deep enough!"
Wow, that sure does make more sense than that dog being able to walk on water! I'm still not entirely convinced though, if the water is that thin, why is that dude in a kayak?

I've never heard of "thin" water...however, it appears that you've never heard of shallow water;
as in the water is more shallow where the deer crossed... :-0?>
Providing of course, that photo was not photo-shopped; especially since "that dude" is not moving forward....
A former Marine who served in Iraq says he's been banned from his daughter's Maryland high school after a heated argument over a lesson on Islam.
Kevin Wood told MyFoxDC.com that he went to La Plata High School in La Plata, a town about 30 miles southeast of Washington, and challenged a history assignment requiring students to list the benefits of Islam. He said the meeting with the vice principal got heated; the school said he made a threat and banned the Iraq veteran from school property.
I thought it was standard practice to learn about Islam in a WORLD HISTORY class. I did a little research in this, because I think a world history class should treat religion objectively and not try to proselytize any particular religion. There's a difference between trying to convert people, and simply teaching people facts about something. How can you possibly learn about world history without learning about religion?
I can't confirm it, but this appears to be the assignment. Looks more or less standard to me:
This shouldn't even be news. If the guy wasn't a veteran it probably wouldn't be. There's no indoctrination going on here, and I'm pretty certain Christianity as well as other religions are covered in this class as well. At least they better be otherwise that's a terrible world history class. Oh wellz.

La Plata may be "30 miles southeast of Washington" on a map, but it's much further in civilization years. Even with a lot of in-migration in recent years, it's still one of the little towns on 301 that still sells sheets with optional eye-holes.
Ummm, not really.
Not to defend the law itself, nor the apparently bad cop behaviour, but what they got arrested for was for not following city code in where they could feed the homeless and for not getting the required permit for doing so. Ft. Lauderdale treats its homeless population problem like they are feral cats, and discourages citizens from putting out food on their porches. That may be a pretty crappy approach, but it doesn't prevent the ministers and the old guy from continuing to feed homeless people just like always except in the designated places and with a permit.
