I don't object to drive thru booze. Other than the sketchy optics of it, making people walk in only deters those that are too drunk to step over the curb after parking.

I've seen other law firms specializing in motorcycle riders, but this is the first one I've seen where all the attorneys in the firm dress up in their biker costumes.

There's also an LA firm specializing in Uber and Lyft accidents.

I suspect a lot of the attorneys in the White House Counsel's office as well as the Justice Department dress in clown costume.

A flight bound for New York took off from Germany, flew for 8 hours, then landed 85 miles from where it started

One can easily bicycle more than 85 miles in 8 hours. Just sayin'.
That Zoltar guy from the Liberty Mutual ads could probably ride his unicycle that far in 8 hours and not have to dump hundreds of gallons of fuel during the trip.

How many things can an article/headline writer get wrong before losing his/her job?

"This tiny home was created from a vintage converted Airstream trailer and is named 'Loretta''

1. It's not a "trailer" it's a motorhome.
2. It's not a "tiny home" it's a fully functional motorhome.
3. "Loretta includes enough room to sleep and seat the entire family," Nope, not a "family of six" in that rig, not comfortably anyway.

Nice custom work, but just because you can do something doesn't mean you ought to. No price tag in the article, but I'm pretty sure for what it cost they could have gotten a really nice late model roomy coach.

Bounce Below Is A Kid-Friendly Underground Trampoline Park In Wales

Image

n abandoned mine in the Welsh Countryside seems more like the secret lair for a Bond villain than a destination for family fun. But, deep in the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, a 10,000 square foot cave twice the size of Bill Gates’ house, is Bounce Below, the world’s first-ever underground trampoline park. Yup, that’s correct: A trampoline park in an underground cave.

(short video)

Bounce Below, located in northwestern Wales near the Snowdonia National Park, houses 6 massive netted trampolines suspended 20 to 180 feet above the cave floor. Each level is connected by an industrial slide the length of a double decker bus, and bathed in so much neon light you’ll feel like Steve Aoki decorated the place. Anyone afraid of the dark, heights, or small spaces should stay home. Anyone who wants bounce, flip, tumble, and slide in a former mine better book a flight.

Image

... If the kids aren’t totally exhausted after bouncing 180 feet in the dark on technicolored nets, Zip World also has an underground Cavern Adventure as well. There you can experience the cave via zip lines, rope bridges, and rock climbing. It’s also home to an outdoor zip experience that lets you soar 6,500 feet in the air over the nearby Blaenau Ffestiniog cliffs and valleys. Because you can’t travel to Wales and spend all your time underground.

 I have climbed 17,802 ft Popo twice, once along the rim to its high point, once just to the rim. I would have been BBQ and not "Happy" about it yesterday.

Camping reservations for Banff National Park went online 1/8. By being ready to click "Reserve" as soon as the clock showed "7:00" I was able to get reservations for the first week of August, that include a long weekend Monday. Parks Canada website had 8,000 requests in the first hour, and over 20,000 in the first 24 hours. It's January, and most of the campgrounds in the park are full for the season. April 1, the site opens for shuttle reservations out to Lake Louise, where you can't drive to anymore. Last year the wait for the poor fools who tried to go out there on a weekend was up to 2 hours to get on the shuttle.

Despite all that, with a bit of effort and planning it can be pretty easy. Anybody with the opportunity to go should do so - well worth the trip.

It's a geyser rather than a volcanic eruption, and I've been there but did not see it go off, which is irregular and at times very rare.

There definitely needs to be a GAOT or greatest asshole of all time. I recommend Donald Rumsfeld. Robert McNamara a close second. Actually, if Bob hadn't killed himself, he might have gone all the way.
GAoAT ;) If it doesn't have to be an American, I nominate this Canadian:
A plane had to turn around and fly 1,000 miles back home because a man on board claimed to have caught the Wuhan coronavirus

A WestJet flight from Toronto to Montego Bay, Jamaica, was forced to turn around after a man stood up and declared he had contracted the coronavirus while on a recent trip to China.

... The man was assessed upon landing back in Toronto at about 2 p.m. and was deemed symptom-free.

Potok was charged with mischief and is due in Ontario court in March.

...
Jah blocked. Daht be fucked up, mon.

I think it's safe to say that on a plane from Toronto to Jamaica, pretty much everyone would have been warm-seeking vacationers. So they've got limited time for their holiday, have been looking forward to it all miserable winter, and possibly scrimped a bit to afford it. Had to schedule their PTO time weeks in advance. Made arrangements to have their house watched, their pets fed or boarded, new island-y clothes bought, maybe passports received or renewed, got up early to sit at the airport a couple of hours...

And now some asshole fakes an illness and after they've endured most of the flight time stuffed into their tiny seat with the a/c blowing down their necks and the kid behind kicking their seat, and they have to turn around and go back to Toronto?

Not even Canadians could be polite with that. Guy should be actually taken to China and dropped off at Wuhan.

Yep, GAoAT.

Plus, on top of all that they experienced at least a couple of hours of dread that they had been exposed, and some are probably reasonably still wondering if they were exposed and he just isn't symptomatic yet.

Wuhan has enough problems. America has its trailer parks and 45SHOLE rallies. Canada needs its own enclaves for assholes, though Calgary might suffice.

I'll report on the current assholiness of Calgary when we pass through there on the way from the dinosaurs to Banff, dodging around the Stampede.

But don't forget, Canada exported Beiber but still has Drake.

You wish. Drake has resided in Hidden Hills, California since 2012, though Bieber steals our womenfolk.

Neil Young recently was granted US citizenship 54 years after moving here from Canada. His application had been held up due to the allegation he lacked "good moral character" because of a decades old pot bust as well as his long time advocacy for pot. Ironic that the US president no doubt lacks good moral character but gets a pass. sick

So the last time I had much experience in public rail transport was maybe 3 years ago, on New Jersey Transit, PATH, and Metro North all around the NYC area. What a pleasant surprise to find the San Diego system is nothing like those at all. Stations you can walk or bike to, free parking around the stations, clean trains, and a really good app that gets you around. Round-trip ticket for Lady O and I from Oceanside to SD is $13. For $58 we can get a monthly pass. Serves all the coastal towns and goes by Old Town and then Convention Center where there are plenty of other transportation choices.

NJT had an app, but as far as I could tell it was pretty worthless. The app here knows where you are, you put in where you want to go, and it gives you ticket choices, select what you want, get the cost added to your account, wave your phone when you get onboard and you're on your way. Works for trains and buses.

How's that rail travel going lately? ;)

I didn't come here to bust your chops. I was just wondering if with San Diego being one of your bases now, longer than you intended at present :( , whether you are on the email list of:

BORDER ANGELS

They're a great group and they're local. In fact, you directly or indirectly turned me on to them when I lost a bet to you with a charitable donation being the stakes. They have a weekly newsletter.
