Just because the UNC basketball team can come back from 8 down with 17 seconds against Dook doesn't mean the football team can't pull defeat from the jaws of victory.

Go:

@Northwestern +28 (4)Ohio St. Fri 10/18 08:30 PM ET. Not sure, thoughts?
Thanks for the help :roll: .
(9)Florida -6 @South Carolina. Tough one for me. Thoughts?
Having again gotten no help from y'all ;) , I'm going with the half point Vegas wiggle in favor of GA-killer South Carolina. So:
@South Carolina +6 (9)Florida.

@Arkansas +19 (11)Auburn.
Half point Vegas wiggle in favor of Auburn. Since Auburn will win, anyhow:
(11)Auburn -19 @Arkansas.

@Louisville +24 (3)Clemson.
CRAP! Auburn is my only win. Plus, IL beat WI by a point :doh: - "Biggest Big 10 upset since 1982.". I start 1-6, tied for worst in the pool. 1 player is 6-1. I am out of the money with 14 games left to play!!! Oh well, just watching football for its own sake the rest of the day, spreads are irrelevant.

Doom news for us up here in TN....tonight Tennessee plays Alabama, in Alabama. I've already started drinking in order to avoid all the pain once it begins deluging down on me. :violin:
I sure miss playing Tennessee every year - always a good game.

@(1)Alabama vs neoplacebo's Tennessee is Offline for us, but Vegas has Alabama as the 34.5 point favorite.
Edit: One of our players actually picked Tennessee straight up. Likely just a brain fart, but major teasing is coming.

They were always good back when we played them every year. Since the expansion it's once every 6.

OR barely won with late ref help, keeps its slim playoff hopes alive. :clap:

6-0 Appalachian St 52, LA Monroe 7. Playoffs, just sayin’.

I go 5-3 in the late afternoon games, am 6-9, 6 points from the lead, 1 point from the cellar.

34.5 points? Terrible. It will be bad; perhaps the worst in modern history. I am braced for impact. :eh:

:clap:
Louisville's offense entered the weekend among the nation's top 20 in total offense, but the top five-ranked Clemson defense kept the usual high-powered Cardinals offense in check throughout. UofL mustered just 263 total yards - 226 below the season average - throughout the contest. The defending national champions started slow as the UofL defense forced a pair of first-half turnovers, but running back Travis Etienne and quarterback Trevor Lawrence guided the Tigers to a 45-10 win that saw the visitors rack up 551 yards of offense.

"Give Clemson a lot of credit," UofL head coach Scott Satterfield said. "We knew they were an outstanding football team and they came in here today and proved it.

Louisville is coming off a 62-59 win at Wake Forest, the second-straight conference win for the Cardinals. Satterfield reviewed the Wake Forest win and previewed Saturday's game against the defending national champions, and he said he doesn’t buy into the national narrative that Clemson isn’t as good as past years.

I thought it was new, wondered if it was a first.
Virginia Tech gets 43-41 6OT win over North Carolina in first test of new overtime rules

... The NCAA changed its overtime rules ahead of the 2019 season for any game that went beyond four overtimes in an attempt to shorten games that can go on for more than a handful of overtime periods. Starting this year, any game that went over four overtimes resulted in a rotating contest of two-point conversions from the 3 to see who scores first. And since North Carolina failed to score on its conversion to start the sixth overtime, Patterson’s run was the game-winning score.

... The six overtimes fall one short of the FBS record for most overtimes. That record was tied in 2018 when Texas A&M beat LSU 74-72 in seven overtimes at the end of the regular season....
UNC makes history! :D

App State's former coach Scott Satterfield
The higher you climb in college football, the harder the climbing becomes. As defending national champions and winners of 22 straight games, Clemson is currently king of the hill.https://www.courier-journal.com/story/s ... KNnDsg6fkk

The horses kept doing their job and ran back to the tunnel while the wagon was tipped over on the field.
Sweet, they were my first concern.

Oklahoma may want to give it up entirely.
It’s the third straight season there has been an in-game Sooner Schooner issue....
Otoh, maybe it's like auto racing - they figure that the prospect of a wreck puts fans in the seats and in front of the TV.

I had @(15)Texas -21.5 Kansas. Forget that, but:

50 points scored in the 4th quarter!

KU “won” 48-47 at 1:11. Carter Stanley passed to Stephon Robinson Jr. down the middle for 22 yard touchdown (2pt attempt converted, Carter Stanley pass to Daylon Charlot) - like underdog UNC tried to do vs Clemson.

TEX 48-50. 0:00 Cameron Dicker kicked a 33-yard field goal. Nice.

They've been doing that for a long time, and it should be generally safe. But this one was clearly a driver error for turning too tight/fast. Also, it was interesting that the top part of the wagon came off the frame, leaving the wheels/frame going back to the barn with the horses. Maybe that's a safety feature itself, since it would be less likely to injure the horses than if the whole thing was dragging along upside down. I always thought the top three mascot characters in football were (1) FSU (2)Sooners (3) Colorado
