Yeah, "Moore has now helped Dem Jones win the Alabama Senate seat," is wishful thinking on my part. I would bet on Jones winning, but I wouldn't bet a lot.
There's a Women for Moore rally happening right now in Montgomery with Mrs. Moore speaking. 30 showed up.
Lots of unsustainable moral equivalencies being spewed. A situational primer based on what we know so far:
Franken:
One accuser, an adult and a porn star at the time, a hardcore con clearly timed to deflect from Moore.
No confirmation of the supposed assault or other supposed "victims" stepping forward.
He was a comic at the time, no position of authority.
The pic is crude, but touching would have woken her up and one can't grope through Kevlar. Franken admits it was wrong.
Moore:
Multiple accusers, some GOP, most minors, at least one criminally underage.
Banned from a mall for being such a lech.
Denies all wrongdoing, attacks the victims.
POSPOTUS:
Many accusers, caught admitting sexual assault on tape.
Peeped on undressed mid-teen girls.
Denies all wrongdoing, attacks the victims.
Soft core, wouldn't you say? But, I screwed up, she did it nude 5 years after the USO tour. She's also one of "The Top Hooters Girls of all time". It's just horrible that Franken ruined her pure and innocent life by mimicking touching her hooters. What ever have comedians sunk to?

Not sure that I see a lot of difference. Bamaians may have progressed overall, but I'm pretty sure that ol'roy types still operate on the fringes in Alabama and most everywhere else.

Whatever happens with accountability, it should have some deterrent effect along with emboldening some victims to immediately call out the perps.

Heard a great story on NPR a couple of weeks ago about fruit pickers in Florida who were being sexually harassed and assaulted by foremen and supervisors. I didn't catch beginning, but I think they were part of a fair trade agreement between growers and retail that pays pickers above standard rates. These women complained to this fair trade association and it was stopped.
These women couldn't believe that what had happened to them also happened to famous women. No one was prosecuted, but everyone was informed that it would stop.

It goes both ways. I have the same problem with "me too" being only about women as I do with BLM being about blacks.
Both movements would do well to recognize that the problem is about power. Women physically assault men and punk pigs harass poor white kids. Failure to go to the root of these problems will result in failure for these movements.
I was sexually harassed by a supervisor every time she came to town some 25 years ago. Friends stayed close and made sure I was never left alone with the drunken married woman and her exploring hands, but many never tired of ribbing me about it. I couldn't imagine exposing her, so I quit my job and opened my own business.
I was also physically attacked by a woman employee 23 years ago. She went ballistic after she quit and I picked up my pager that she was using from her desk. The pager had a bunch of calls from her boyfriend and she thought I would tell her husband. Somehow I came out the biggest loser on that one.
People can be assholes.

I think it's fair to discuss the people that are the majority of victims as long as recognition is made that they're not the only victims. Misogyny and racism are a big part of the problem. That said, in response to a Progress NC email I sent a note a couple of weeks ago that included:
Spacey is appropriate to cite, but his victims were almost entirely men and boys. If you're going to mention him, the rest of your email shouldn't exclusively be about women victims.
