Gun Legislation

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Kentucky man shoots down drone hovering over his backyard
I'm with the gun nut on this issue, if it all happened as reported. I'd've gone after that drone with anything at hand, including the #6 shot I keep in my .410.
People are crazy and times are strange. I'm locked in tight, I'm out of range.
I used to care, but, things have changed.

I'm with the shooter, too.
Must have been a hoot to watch the drone's owners watch their camera monitor when the guy shot the drone.

I would have claimed I thought it was a big-ass mosquito.

Watch and see; what with close calls at airports, hindering firefighting, and cases such as this, I'm betting drones will eventually become illegal. Either that, or someone, such as in this story's case, is going to get shot.

The problem is that most people look the other way or cheer

The Iraqis will probably always remember the brutal war crimes committed in fallujah by our marines

no different than the hundreds of massacres in nam

But you pass those off too

And what did the leader of the Iraqis do before our Marines arrived that caused our being there?

We've all heard of war crimes against Iraqis by a few idiotic members of our troops, but can you cite instances of baby killings?

Point 1, the Iraqis did not do anything to us

Point 2, the wholesale use of illegal phosphorus shells when bombing a city full of women and children

We had the world on our side after 911, but the innocent Iraqis has cheney'so oil. So we started what will surely be ww3.

As we have done so many times, history begins when another country reacts to us

Here we are still hating Iran for reacting to our overthrowing their democracy

And people like you blaming our atrocities on a few bad apples

I see the special ops fucks driving up and down hwy 98 with their kill tag head etc bumper stickers, or their infidel tags, and their gun ship stickers spraying bullets

Well, Saddam Hussein was pretty brutal. No doubt. At least by US standards. But if you look at the plight of the average Iraqi before and after the US invasion, it appears they are worse off. When you've got warring factions - factions that have been at each other's throats for centuries and have no interest in reconciliation - sometimes a hard boot on the neck of everyone is the only way to maintain something that looks like peace.

We all have a tendency to judge everyone else by our own US standards, with no understanding whatsoever of what the real challenges are, and with not attempt to understand the social and cultural environment.

No al Qaeda, no involvement with 9/11, no WMDs, just hundreds of Cheney/Shrub lies.

Your pics are from the gas attacks in the 1980s that were facilitated and covered up by Reagan, Daddy Shrub and Rumsfeld, not from anything he did in 2003. You fail investigative journalism, again.

Wow, are you really that oblivious to the civilian toll from the invasion and occupation?

Pretty much culling the herd. Maybe they should get a posthumous Darwin Award. The first guy carried a gun "all the time" because he was a "security guard at his church"? Right.

In a tragic criminal attack, we are once again reminded that if only somebody had been armed...
Oh wait - this was a cop; carrying and ostensibly well-trained in firearms. Opps.
