UWF is 6 for 6 on 3rd down

Now
31 to 21, 4 minutes left in the first half

ESPNU

Now 45 to 29
Thanks, I would have missed it. Fun ending, y'all almost gave it away. CONGRATS!

I'm 1-1, twice tied for 4th out of 17.

Sat:

Splitting my picks:
N. Carolina A&T -2.5 Alcorn St.
Actually an FCS game, but it is the Celebration Bowl, "the de facto national championship of black college football". Shootout, N. Carolina A&T 64, Alcorn St 44.
San Diego St -3.5 Cent. Michigan
San Diego St crushed it.
Washington -3.5 Boise St (2 points). Splitting my picks. Sorry, Washington-loving O Really and Boise St-hating billy.pilgrim.
The way I deal with marginal (for me) games is that I pick all underdogs in my UD/OK set, all favorites in my Fav/OH St set. So, since the favorites killed it in earlier games, GO Huskies!

Go, in both sets:
Georgia So -5 Liberty. Georgia So in both sets, of course.
Nope, but close. God damn you, Jerry Falwell.
Florida Atlantic +3 SMU.
Florida Atlantic 45-14 in the 4th  .
My Fav is 4-2, tied for 1st. My UD is 2-4, tied for 2nd worst.

In prior years our straight up picks for Champ would have been almost all LSU. Now, with odds it's:
OK (60 points) - 2 of us, guaranteed 1st or 2nd money if OK wins
Clemson (10 points) - 3 players
LSU (6 points) - just 6 players
OH St (11 points) - 7 of us, so much for my being sly by picking it

Wanna tell me that I’m an idiot with any of these games? You have until FRIDAY, DECEMBER 20 AT 1:55 PM EASTERN TIME to persuade me.
Are you feeling a little shaky on betting against the Huskies yet?

Go, in both sets:

Appalachian St -16.5 UAB (2 points). Appalachian St in both sets, of course, but the 2nd largest spread in all of the Bowls might be a big hurdle.
UAB jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first 4.5 minutes. Crap, forget the spread and the game might be lost, right?
31-17 Appalachian St, almost beat the spread. Oh well, 13-1, top 25 ranking, best season ever and a Bowl is excellent!

My Fav is tied for 2nd, one point out of the lead. My UD is still tied for 2nd worst.

One year I won 1st AND I got my $10 back for last.

UCF Pick-6 in the first minute of the opening drive of the game  .

Next Marshall play: Nice run capped by losing a fumble  .

UCF punt fumbled away by returner. 3 Marshall TOs in the first 4:14! On pace for 40 TOs in the game. :D

TD, 14-0 at six minutes into the game. On pace for 140-0. :D

OMG! Marshall lateral tipped, run in for a UCF TD.
4 Marshall TOs in 4 possessions.
2 UCF defensive TDs.
A 3rd UCF TD on offense after one of the TOs.
21-0 eight minutes into the game. The 17.5-point spread has been exceeded.

Marshall drives to the UCF 10, first play of 2nd quarter, fumbles ball away, TO #5. This is ridiculous. Even the announcers lost track, they're calling it TO #4.

Marshall Pick-6, 21-7, seems only fair.

Woohoo, they danced around the 17.5-point spread a bit, but 48-25. UCF is THE Gasparilla Bowl CHAMPION, championship parade details TBA :P .

My Fav is still tied for 2nd, one point out of the lead. My UD is tied for worst.

Yippie, Hawai'i scores the winning TD with 1:17 left, 38-34. WR Nick Mardner caught 3 passes all year. On the final drive he caught 2 more - a bomb for 38 and the 24 yard TD pass.
QB Cole McDonald: 28/46, 493 Yds!, 4 TDs!, 0 Int!

My Fav is still tied for 2nd, one point out of my SIL's lead. My UD is tied for 2nd worst, one point out of the cellar.

Louisiana Tech 14-0, first shutout in the 44 year history of the Independence Bowl, emblematic of Miami's season.

Surprisingly, my UD is still tied for 2nd worst, one point out of the cellar, and my Fav is still tied for 2nd, but now 2 points out of my SIL's lead.

Pittsburgh beating the 11 point spread tonight won't change my status re the lead or the cellar.

Pittsburgh took its first lead of the game on a TD with 0:47 left, cool, but missed the spread, 34-30. I'm skunked on the day, but it was only 2 points. My Fav falls to a tie for 5th, still just 2 points out of the lead. My UD is still tied for 2nd worst, now 2 points out of the cellar. 15 points possible so far, I have 9 and 4.

The next 2 days are big ones, 7 points Fri, 13 points on Sat. Pool fortunes will be made and dashed.

Temple got pasted a couple of times, most notably by billy.p's favorite Florida team, and beat the Big Ten powerhouse Terps; UNC got to their barely-bowl qualifying 6-6 record generally being UNC. I think I'd go with Temple. I'd still be happy with a 'Heels win, but expectations must be tempered.

Lady O thinks it's bad karma to bet against the Huskies no matter what, and that all their losses are due to fair-weather fans - which, of course are not fans most of the time because they're, well, fair weather fans and they're in Seattle.
I'm always a fair weather fan with UNC. I like it more than most teams, but it doesn't have my heart.

I looked closer. Temple is 8-4. They only had one common opponent, played on consecutive weeks, GA Tech. UNC 38-22, but Temple crushed it at 24-2. So, your 'UNC sucks' message is heard loud and clear. Good thing you also have a fondness for Philadelphia, as do I.

North Carolina -4.5 Temple. Splitting my picks. Sorry, O Really. Temple in both sets, Noon ET.

Texas A&M -7 Oklahoma St. 2 points, split my picks, 6:45p. Since my Fav set is doing better, go Texas A&M.
