Gun Legislation

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Point proved.

I am grateful to learn that there were no disobedient kids in his day. I never knew that.
(incessant whining ignored) ... My guess opinion is that you're blowing out your ass without completely comprehending what I wrote. Go back and read my post that you are blowing out of context. I said nothing about statistics, rates of GS deaths, or any thing of that sort.

Lie when busted, as usual.
Seth Milner wrote:... Why, today are so many kids getting killed because of guns in the home? What's happened to plain discipline? ... What's wrong with teaching kids what they are not to put their hands on like it was taught years ago? I just don't understand.
That's a clear statement that it's worse now.

I quoted what a child said in the news report and questioned why more of today's children are dying of GSW's

There you go again, stating it's "more" when you have no clue whether it is or not, hilarious given that you're in the midst of claiming, "I said nothing about statistics, rates of GS deaths, or any thing of that sort."

when guns have been present in homes since whenever. My point in my post was that parents aren't taking responsibility for teaching their kids to keep their hands off.

Another unsupported assertion of fact. It could be that we just hear more about such tragedies than we used to because of media technology and/or that kids ignore parental instruction as much as they ever did.

It's quite obvious there were disobedient (and hateful) kids in my day; ... (incessant whining ignored)

You've twice claimed less so, though.
 Clearly, this will be yet another round where wussy Seth Milner stupidly denies over and over again what we can all see that he has posted, then eventually runs away.

Dishonest, uninformed and irresponsible people like Seth Milner make a better case for gun control than I could ever hope to.
Point proved.

So, Seth - not that I'd try to tell you how to entertain yourself, but why don't you address the onpoint responses to your posts instead of letting Vrede pipe you out of the village?

And not just mine. He uses whining about me as a pitiful and transparent cover to run away from your posts and rstrong's, too, and has done so for a long time.

I said my piece. There's no point in trying to carry on a conversation, or debate, with anyone who's main focus in life is to belittle and attempt to prove himself superior to any comments. I used to carry with the best (or worst) of clowns like that, but I'm no longer interested; I've better things to do than sit here and banter back and forth with a child. So tell me, what's so great about Vrede too "piping me out of the village"? He's already "piped out" everyone else that posted adversarial points; now all you have are those who yep, yep, yep with you all the time.
(Is that a decent whine?)

There's a decent whine, now. Join my club; whine some more, little child.

Why do you care? What's your vested interest? It's not like you've been out there posting links, inviting new people. Why do you constantly whine about it?

  I don't care. It's just fun watching you and yours get your asses all twisted in knots when someone says stuff like this.
As far as inviting people, it wouldn't do any good to invite anyone; Vrede too runs them off before they can get grounded; you're too much of a pussy wimp to do anything about it. (whine, whine) I just like to pop in occasionally to see real NPD in action; I don't get disappointed.

Yep, pitifully obsessed with me with no other purpose, as I've said all along and Seth Milner wussily denied, and perfectly happy proving himself to be a liar and a coward in the process. What an infantile loser!

And yet, among all the complaining and bitching about Vrede being offensive, obnoxious, ornery, and obsessive, you, Seth, et.al. just can't find anything else to talk about. He's got you by the short hair and you just dance along to his tune.

It's really quite simple, Seth Milner.

State an opinion that has some grounding in rationality and you get left alone other than a differing opinion being offered, when there is one.

Post dubious facts or tortured logic and you'll get called on it. My style and contrary opinions aren't what gets you throwing these tantrums, it's my ability to see when your claims are unsupported or untenable.

Assuming that you have some motivation other than whining, a premise that's become very difficult to entertain, it's just not that difficult. Grow up.

Fair enough. What I take issue with is that no matter what I post, regardless of the point I try to, or am making, you go out of your way to dissect it, twist it's meaning, and tear it apart regardless of the content of the post, rather than offer differing opinions that could possibly make for debate material. I don't know what you're trying to prove, either to yourself or others, but you continue to make yourself a very hated individual, as evidenced by the departure of past forum members. Do you or any of your forum friends have the 'nads to speak up and address this accusation in an honest and forthright manner; or is this going to be brushed off as a "well, if you can't take it" blah, blah, blah? Personally, like Bannination, I would like to see this forum grow in numbers like it obviously started out; but with your (excuse me while I whine) undisciplined, hateful attitude toward others, it ain't gonna happen.

This forum is never going to grow. It was an offshoot of newspaper forum whose readers were the recruits. We have no mechanism for recruiting, none, and people leave for lots of reasons. Attrition has always been guaranteed, I think most of us are surprised it's lasted as long as it has.

When you were working and responsible to an editor, the story subjects and the public while under threat of lawsuit, you couldn't have been as sloppy as you are here. See above. Stick to opinion or post credible facts and logic, defend or retract when you're wrong, don't deflect and don't run away. It's not rocket surgery.

Then, don't forget that you made your bed by attacking first. That's fine with me that you did so, but I sure ain't gonna be cutting you any slack in the kitchen you lit the fire in.

The rest of your whining is ignored.

The Colorado Springs shooter was a white, Christian, hetero, non-druggie, sober alcoholic, small "l" libertarian, no criminal record and worked in insurance, just another "responsible gunowner" . . . until he wasn't.

You didn't mention the inevitable term "mentally ill" though. That's become the catch-all for why "nothing can be done" about shootings.

There may be some hints of it but the article I saw wasn't definitive. He did seem to be functional, though.

LIttle info has been released about any of it. Betcha somebody brings it up before end of day tomorrow, though.

I don't object when there's evidence of it, I see disturbed people every day at work. We need reasonable gun control and vastly increased mental health funding, but the GOP and some Dems stand in the way of both.
