Romney is opening some big leads

Yes it was a shame that Dick got screwed (even though he probably didn't). But the best part was this
led, eventually, to the whole Watergate mess where Tricky Dicky was left slowly twisting in his own
blow back, to mix a metaphor or two. I wouldn't have missed that for the world.

I couldn't have been happier when Nixon went down (and not in a good way), but I still say compared to what passes for Republicans now, he was a saint.

After almost forty years, Nixon at least looks pretty moderate, compared to the present day
GOP, but he was still pretty much of a scoundrel and I think the bad outweighed the good.
And things did get tense, especially right after the Saturday Night Massacre, when one sort
of wondered What's next? But all's well that ends well, and by the time he finally gave up
the ghost and resigned, it was like a great celebration.
