It's coming

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

didn't you win last year?
I don't think you've had a real winner since 2016. The same thread was used for 3 years.

Comment under the Animal House clip:
The Kingsmen's version of Louie Louie. The only song where you can be so drunk that you cannot even stand up, and your sing-along sounds exactly like the record.

There's a NOW rally demanding a Louise Louise Day.

Also scheduled was an LGBTQ Lou Lou Day march, but it was canceled due to confusion with Lulu and the organizers thinking that expectations would be too high..

I was thinking the word rather than the person, but she would confuse Lou Lou Day even further.

What a great movie, and what a great scene when she sings <sniff> !

Yep, 1967!

I never knew that James Clavell wrote the adapted screenplay for and directed To Sir, with Love. He was a Japanese POW, and he also had some minor success with movies like:

The Fly (1958) (writer)
The Great Escape (1963) (co-writer)
King Rat (1965) (based on his novel)

and novels like:

Tai-Pan (1966), set in Hong Kong in 1841
Shōgun (1975), set Japan from 1600 onwards
Noble House (1981), set in Hong Kong in 1963

great books. I read Tai-Pan, Shogun and King Rat in the mid-70s. Could deserve another read - either King Rat or Shogun.

We're funny, a stranger popping in would almost have to wonder if Louie Louie is featured in To Sir, with Love. Hell, it might be, I'd have to watch the entire year-end school dance scene before Lulu sings. :D
