Maybe Soupy should try getting his mind around the fact that a $4 trillion government budget is not run like a household budget.

And even if it were, I don't know very many people who have a legal limit on how much they incur on their credit cards, changeable by a vote of their family members.

Taking that analogy further, how many families would be living in tents because they were forbidden by law to incur debt to purchase a house?

Further, how many families, having incurred debt by mortgaging a house, would simply refuse to incur more debt to repair the house when struck by disaster -- e.g. an earthquake damaging the structure.

I'm guessing most families would incur more debt to repair their damaged house.

Once again Stinger's imagination exceeds reality. Where did I post buying a home through the mortgage process is wrong? If one can service debt then borrowing is fine. It is when a person or government borrows past the point they can service the debt is where the problem is. BTW, printing money is not a good way to service debt.
