Unemployment rates respond to what happens in the economy. It's called a "lagging economic indicator" for a reason. You don't know this because . . . well, you just don't know a lot.

The housing bubble began to collapse while the Republickens had control of the White House and the Congress. The economic collapse came because the housing bubble bursting, and then all the toxic assets that were bundled while the Republickens had control of the White House and the Congress began to take down major financial institutions.

The resultant economic collapse happened to occur mostly while Republickens controlled the White House and Democrats controlled the Congress. Correlation is not causation.

We're not shedding 850,000 jobs per month. The economy isn't spiraling into a full-blown recession like it was when Obama took office. The GDP is much higher than the Eurozone. We didn't have the double-dipper. The stock market's recovered. Unemployment's lower than it was when Obama took office. Record corporate profits. Housing market recovering. About 3 straight years of private-sector job growth.

Not perfect, but only a totally ignorant dimwit would expect anyone to wave a magic wand and fix the biggest economic calamity to hit America in almost a century.

Read up on the Great Depression. That's the closest thing we have had to this. See how many years it took -- along with WHAT it took -- to get us out of the Great Depression.
