Forum "maintenance" off and on this weekend Sat/Sun

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Hm.... made some chances that probably have zero to do with that issue -- I've never seen it myself. Next time it happens can you copy and paste the URL it happened on and send it to me?

Thanks

Probably some quirk with this ancient computer I'm using. It's from 2006 I think.

It happened again, first time since you posted.

The url I was leaving:
index.php

The "Misdirected Request" url:
viewtopic.php?p=156958#p156958

The url I was aiming for and got to after back-paging and trying again, same as the "Misdirected Request" url:
viewtopic.php?p=156958#p156958

When it happens to me, I go to the control panel and then click "internet options" and then "delete files" and that always lets me get back in.

No. Why would that be the issue?

If I'm not mistaken, cookies are partially memory engrams that reduce data packets that need to be transmitted, they redirect.

Make sure your passwords are saved, deleting cookies will sign you out of most sites.

Thanks, I understand what they are. I'm just wondering why they would very very rarely send me to a "Misdirected Request" page.

Wild ass guess. When computers screw up, delete history, cookies and reboot. -0-?

Been a very long time since I had to do that.

Windows 10, TOL hardware/storage/memory, Firefox browser. Remember, I used to set up and sell this stuff.

Happened again, 2nd time today.

Leaving: viewtopic.php?p=156993#p156993
Going to: posting.php?mode=edit&p=156993

Worked fine on the 2nd try. Should I clear cookies as GoCubsGo suggests?

You should, it's basic maintenance.

Doing your own research are you?

Only an idiot thinks he knows more than actual experts.

Are you taking Hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin with your oats as a preventative?

Don't ya just love how all his snappy comebacks are just poor variations of "I know you are but what am I?"

The bottom line is my system works just fine. Without all this so-called "maintenance".

But then I'm not running a child prostitution ring.
