Race did of course make this more interesting. But it was also the idea of a young man getting killed on his way home by a vigilante type. In my view, I would have found the shooter guilty of manslaugter no matter what the race of either of them. But it also wouldnt have attracted quite somuch attention if Zimmerman had been charged immediately, as undoubtedly Martin would have been had Zimmerman been the one killed.

and "remember Trayvon" attitudes as an excuse to stir civil unrest.
