Trump

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

what does it mean when someone brags that they could commit murder and not lose his followers

"I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters, OK?" Trump remarked at a campaign stop at Dordt College in Sioux City, Iowa. "It's, like, incredible."

I would guess he thinks affluenza works for anyone who's wealthy.

trumpet may be losing the Anne Frank vote

Writing for Newsweek in advance of Holocaust Memorial Day, Eva Schloss, holocaust survivor and Anne Frank’s stepsister, compared Trump to Hitler. “ If Donald Trump become the next president of the U.S. it would be a complete disaster. I think he is acting like another Hitler by inciting racism ,” she said.

Obviously CatholicVote.org does not speak for all Catholics, but their opposition to Trump is interesting and well founded. Link

He's almost as bad at living up to Catholic ideals as the Catholic church.

Well. Maybe not THAT bad.

given that roger ailes is one of the smartest and dirtiest players on the political scene
given that he created fox as an info channel for repugs
given that there was a internal fight between Murdock and ailes over trumpet.
given that ailes won the fight to promote trumpet on fox

could the ailes v trumpet fight have been concocted by ailes

possibly
to show trumpet as his own man
strong enough to take on fox
or, maybe something akin to coke cancelling coke for new coke - just another publicity stunt

the tweet from ailes to trumpet about putin didn't seem smart at all and ailes is very smart,

just look at what he has gotten the fox watchers to swallow

Well, sure it would be - if it were real. Getting Mexico to pay for a wall to contain the 11 million rapists we're going to abscond from their landscaping jobs and out of the apple orchards and lettuce fields to send "back" to Mexico even though many were born here. Yeppers, totally huuuugely disgusting.
But as the article says, being that rabid on immigration is a recently acquired Trump act, engaging hyperbole and demagoguery as "tools of salesmen".

Unfortunately, the writer totally lost credibility with me when s/he ummm, "quoted," “we have to pass the bill before you can see what’s in it.” That's not even the original misquote, which was also wrong but was "we have to pass the bill before we know what's in it." For anyone who cares, the context was discussion of various potential unknown consequences of parts of Obamacare. Given the consequences under discussion were unknown, Pe-Lo said, "We'll have to pass the bill to know that." Bit of a difference, I'd say.

My opinion is that #5 is a "huuuge, disgusting" negative solely for the hatefulness in what he's been saying and how it's impacting our society, not because he would necessarily actually accomplish the specifics.

I'm certainly not defending CatholicVote in toto, but some of its Trump analysis is spot on. It's fair to assume that he will lie in the xenophobic bed he's made as much as he can while hoping that it was all just part of his ever-changing act if he's elected.

It was a good article overall. I think Trump would be a horrible President, or Governor. looking at his (known) life to date, he's a horrible excuse for a human being. If he weren't filthy rich, probably nobody would ever even go to lunch with him. But he's still better than any of the other Republicans, except maybe Kasich, whose name I can't even spell without looking him up and whose chances are lower than McWho.

If your choice, Hillary, were to be indicted and drop out, and Biden entered, as some have speculated, would you vote for him?

Would I vote for Biden? Absolutely.
I wish the situation was such that if the Dems ran a really awful candidate that the Republicans would have somebody better. But with the hold the inmates have in the House asylum and a thin line in the Senate, it's simply not acceptable for the current style "Republicans" to control it all. Besides, the last time I voted for a Republican because the Dem was really really awful, it was Spiro Agnew. Ewwwww.

Past that, however, I think Biden as President probably wouldn't be a superstar, but wouldn't likely screw up anything. The same couldn't be said for, say, Cruz, Rubio, Jeb!, etc.
