The Religion Thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Parent outraged over "pentagram symbol" on Mid-South bus

Image
The parent snapped a photo when she noticed the shape of an upside down, five-pointed star outlined in the brake lights of a school bus that was stopped in Cordova.

"Anyone who fears a God, if not God and Jesus Christ, should be outraged," she said.

This must be about 25 times more satanic by their standards.

And let's not forget the flag of Israel; it's just one big one on it six points instead of five, though. I wonder where the outrage is?

You aren't doing it wrong if no one knows what you are doing.

If Jesus wanted fat people to attend church, he'd have broken his body into bigger crackers.

Instead, He gave them wedding cake and alcohol; and told them to get plastered at Christmas parties that celebrates His birthday.

Jokes on them, they don't even celebrate the birthday at the right time of year. They picked a "Satan day".

You gotta hand it to those loving, forgiving Christians; they're charming.

So you buy your Christmas gifts to give on "a Satan day" ?

It's like the argument the Sabbath being Saturday or Sunday.

Wikipedia: Saturday: Saturday Sabbath:
For Jews, Messianics and Seventh-day Adventists, the seventh day of the week, known as Shabbat (or Sabbath for SDA), stretches from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday and is the day of rest. Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches distinguish between Saturday (Sabbath) and the Lord's Day (Sunday). Other Protestant groups, such as Seventh-Day Adventists, hold that the Lord's Day is the Sabbath and not Sunday. From Scriptures, Jesus rested in the grave on the Sabbath day, which is the day after the day of preparation. In this way, Jesus rested as God did in the beginning during the creation. Quakers traditionally refer to Saturday as "Seventh Day", eschewing the "pagan" origin of the name. In Islamic countries, Fridays are considered as the last day of the week and are holidays along with Thursdays; Saturday is called Sabt (cognate to Sabbath) and it is the first day of the week in many Arabic countries.
Additional details from Wikipedia: Sabbath: Sabbath as Saturday
Using midnight instead of sundown as delimiter dates back to the Roman Empire, John 19:14 with Matthew 27:1–2. In over thirty other languages, the common name for this day in the seven-day week is a cognate of "Sabbath". "Sabbatini", originally "Sabbadini", often "Sabatini", etc., is a very frequent Italian name form ("Sabbatos" is the Greek form), indicating a family whose ancestor was born on Saturday, Italian sabato; "Domenico" indicated birth on Sunday. In vampire hunter lore, people born on Saturday were specially designated as sabbatianoí in Greek and sâbotnichavi in Bulgarian (rendered in English as "Sabbatarians").

Lots of people going to hell since he didn't make it too clear which one is the real sabbath. This dude is totally inept.

Perhaps now, you understand what I mean by "real" Christians.

Of course you've known what I meant all along, you just want to lump all Christians together thinking you're getting to me......not happening.

Persons dedicated to serving the Lord ("real" Christians) ignore the differences in opinion of those who denigrate the notion of a Creator. Being obtuse, hateful, murderous, etc. serves no useful purpose; same as the posting of God-hating links, quotes, and "cartoons" by you and the others here, serve no useful purpose.

I, as far as I know, I am the only outspoken Christian currently posting here, and I certainly have no problem with laughing at you and ignoring your silly attempts at humor and/or "facts" , and even ignoring the names I'm called for sticking to my religious convictions.

Maybe some of the "Christians" in what passes for the Republican Party could benefit from your perspective since quite a few of them lately are doing their best to stoke religious intolerance toward Muslims, incessantly bleating and bloviating about how the president doesn't typically use the word "Islamist" or "Muslim" when talking about radical extremism. They're just all over themselves over it; Ted Cruz is lucky there aren't a bunch of Cuban radicals from Canada running around blowing themselves and other things up. I doubt he'd agree with being put in the same bag as them.
