The Religion Thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Perhaps now, you understand what I mean by "real" Christians.
You claim that the Old Testament isn't part of Christianity. But only on even-numbered days? During a new moon? You still thump it and quote it when it suits you. You reject much of the New Testament too, on a sentence by sentence basis apparently using some secret mathematical formula. Your casual bigotry, dishonesty and hypocrisy makes clear that you have nothing but contempt for Christ's teachings.

Yes, I see what you mean.

When's the funeral; or are you opting for cremation?

Same here.
I agree.....I think you'd make excellent fertilizer. They wouldn't even have to grind you up.

"Father high in heaven, smile down upon your son
who's busy with his money games, his women, and his gun.
Oh, Jesus save me!
And the unsung Western hero killed an Indian or three,
and made his name in Hollywood to set the white man free.
Oh, Jesus save me!
If Jesus saves, well he better save himself
from the gory glory seekers who use his name in vain.
Oh, Jesus save me!
Well, I saw him in the city, and on the mountains of the moon.
His cross was rather bloody and he could hardly roll his stone.
Oh, Jesus save me!"

I really shouldn't even be posting in this thread....The Bible says to "shun all appearances of evil....." Take that!

I wish. Instead, I appear blandly normal and keep getting free passes through the security line at airports.
I've a good comeback for that, but while things are peaceable, I'll let it ride.

This article is puzzling and doesn't make sense. There are numerous Baptist churches, Southern and Independent, that have, and have long had, mixed races in their congregation. We have Blacks in our church, as well as Hispanics; despite the largest majority being White.

Maybe it's a geographical area thingy, I don't know.

The article offers stats, it shouldn't be puzzling just because your experience is different. After all, it's the SBC leadership that's saying in this article that change is needed, not outside critics.

Near where I live is a 100% Hispanic (as far as I can tell) Christian church, I'm not sure of the denomination.
If not Catholic, seems like a lot of hispanic protestants are pentecostal, I think. At least that was the case it seemed in NJ where I lived.
You aren't doing it wrong if no one knows what you are doing.

Yes, I am; Independent Baptist. We are not supported or governed by any sort of Conference, Convention, or ruling entity.

For certain, there are still some Independents (no particular denomination) out there that are fiercely fundamental and rooted in 'white supremacy'.

Textual analysis of Genesis 1:9-10. Fascinating although obvious conclusion.

What an amazing opinion you formed FTA. Now I don't have to wonder whether or not you disagree or agreed with any particular point.
