I find stuff like this worrisome. I think there's an inherit danger in lumping an entire group of people together in a derisive, dismissive, manner. Now, I understand we use concepts to "lump things together" all the time. We categorize and label things to facilitate communication. That's how language works. But I think potential problems arise when we begin to apply negative associations to entire groups of people. Its easy for that to slip into feelings of superiority, prejudice and outright hate for an said group, irrespective of the individual.

It's unfair and rude, but as a boomer I also think it's kinda funny. We really have fucked things up, with the election of 45SHOLE being our crowning achievement, and it's not all that different from our mocking "blue hairs" and "old farts yelling at kids on their lawns."
Rather than get upset, I might just call her/him a "smartass", mention how much more money I have, and point out that s/he has to live with the consequences of our choices, not the reverse .

Today while at the food store, I was standing there and looked down at the stand for the local newspaper. The front page headline was "Scott County Votes to Uphold Second Amendment" or something very similar to that. Scott County is a rural, poor county in SW Virginia and since Democrats have been winning elections in Virginia, these moron yahoos have somehow gotten the idea that "they" are coming to take their guns away. No shit; this is what they think. It's crazy. I've not seen on local media any such threat to take any guns away. It just shows the power of stupid cult shit on stupid cult people. I did not buy a copy of the paper so I don't know how Scott County will "uphold" the 2nd Amendment; all I can figure is they will buy more guns and not realize the fact they can do this puts the lie to their whole cause, keeps them stupid, and somehow reinforces their initial belief in the cause they just proved to be stupid.

When this happened the other day I started to think that maybe Pompeo's statement that the US will no longer consider Israel establishing more settlements on stolen Palestinian land to be illegal as the UN Resolution declares it to be could possibly have been a motive for the Saudi Air Force guy to reach his limit. I believe Pompeo made his statement just a day or two before this shooting. In any case, US policy, along with Israeli policy, serves to create enemies for us at a pretty brisk pace. I don't know about 45SHOLE, but I just learned that the other White supremacists use what we used to think of as the 'OK' sign because the fingers form a 'W' and a 'P' - White power.
