Surviving a second Trump admin

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Anyone have a clue as to what he's up to?

Is it getting rid of anyone who's not a bootlicker and America be damned?

Trump fires heads of TSA, Coast Guard and guts key aviation safety advisory committee
I haven't read the articles about the others yet, but Coast Guard Commandant Admiral Linda Lee Fagan was the first female uniformed leader of an armed forces branch, and was also a strong DEI advocate in the wake of the Coast Guard's many sexual assault complaints and allegations of racism and hazing. 'Nuff said.
We can bet that her replacement will be a White man.

I wonder if Vrede has considered increasing his Duloxetine meds. His anxiety level seems elevated since Trump's election and inauguration.

Uncertainty breeds anxiety. Trump runs on creating uncertainty (not opinion, he's proud of it). Anxiety makes people more likely to watch him and to increase fear. Running on the creation of fear and a bullying approach is classic Trump long since before he became a politician. On his TV show, did the promos show a sympathetic Trump telling a contestant "I'm sorry, but the other contestant's project was better and you've been disqualified"? Nope -
more like...

So without regard for policies, strategies, good of the country, whatever, he incorporates exactly none of the characteristics needed for leadership of anything but a dictatorship or cult. And over half the voters voted for him - that's the real reason for anxiety.

Wow, profound.

How long did it take you to compose that well thought out and deeply insightful masterpiece?

Ah, questioning the mental health of a political opponent. How very Soviet of you, MAGAt. Figures. Neither cynicism nor honesty are "anxiety", Dr Phil. As a male hetero White citizen I should be okay in racist, xenophobic, sexist, homophobic MAGA cult land.

That said, DonOLD's Day 1 increase in prescription drug prices for Medicare recipients and plans to attack Social Security are concerning. Good thing I have savings, unlike many.

Whooosh. It's not a Biden page either, dummy. Besides, you ran screeching away from the sports pages after the embarrassing game, exactly as I predicted. One has to engage cowards where they pop up.

The days of "Brave New World", Fahrenheit 451 and Big Brother are upon us. No joke. That, combined with a legit Hitler wannabe copycat makes it good to be old.

Is that why Biden backed out? I don’t spend an extremely amount of time here as you do. You’re probably already in a nursing home with nothing else to do. Gotta go, family things to do. Planning that Grove City Ohio trip to celebrate that national championship with family.

It's curious with all the emphasis on getting rid of DEI stuff, which generally has no teeth, no compliance reviews, no enforcement, no reporting requirements they seem to be ignoring Executive Order 11146, which requires affirmative action of all federal contractors. Unlike DEI, 11246 requires a written affirmative action plan, annual reporting, compliance reviews sometimes on site, fines and a rarely used potential of shutting down the contract. Let's not tell the trumpers, mmmmK?

Yeah, but I still say the emphasis ought to be on his total ignorance and inexperience. Repugs don't care about domestic violence or general assholiness. Some consider it a badge of manliness.

And Susan Collins is one of the least reliable critters in the Senate.

This is Trumpworld now, "ought to be" is irrelevant. Our wager is on who will be the first to drop out or get booted.

Understood. I just think it would be easier to get him booted on the unqualified instead of on the sleaziness.

No none of them are. And that's my point. Focus on something irrefutable instead of the he/she said.
