If he wins doesn't he have to pay capital gains?

If he loses, bupkus.

Nearly $100 million in counterfeit sports-related items were seized at flea markets and retail outlets around Los Angeles in the lead-up to Super Bowl LVI, federal officials announced this week.

More than 267,500 items, including fake jerseys, jackets, hats, rings, souvenirs and tickets were seized as part of "Operation Team Player," a joint effort involving U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, Customs and Border Protections, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and the NFL, among other agencies....
Wow.

I try to patronize my local knock-off vendors if they have good stuff. It's not "fake" at all - it just doesn't funnel more money into the NFL bottomless pockets. I see that as a good thing.

He's been stale for a long time and we've heard his voice for forty something years.

Time for a change, bring on Mike Tirico who is actually a better play by play guy anyways.

What sports-related items do you buy? I got given a couple of Panthers t-shirts back when the team was formed, but they wore out long ago.

I'm impressed by the volume, both "counterfeit" and what that implies about official sales.

I was kind of wondering that too. These days the only time I'm inspired to buy is if a Chicago team wins it all. Haven't made a purchase in six years.

I don't buy much. A hat maybe, since I go through those pretty quickly, a t-shirt, lightweight hoodie. I've got a Seahawk "12" jersey, and a (former minor league team) Vermont Lake Monsters shirt. I'm not a collector.

So, who ya got?

I'm thinking this game comes down to two things that can make it close.

The Bengals O line and Stafford.

If the Bengals don't protect Aaron Donald and Co. could go to town.

Stafford can be Jeckyl, Hyde or both.

If Stafford is Jeckyl it's the Rams regardless.

If Stafford is Jeckyl and Hyde and the Bengals line is average it's a last one with the ball at the end type of thing.

If Stafford is Hyde and the line is good it's Bengals.

If Stafford is Hyde and the o line is bad I'm drinking cause it'll be a shitty game.

I'm sure I forgot some variation.

Still don't know who I'm rooting for. May be a game time decision.
Or an in game decision.
Or maybe I'll vacillate during the game.

Or not.

Wings and guacamole, chips and salsa.

What am I missing?

Ditto, and I haven't put any thought into the matchups like you have. Rams are only favored by 4, so -0-? .

They both have cool helmets, so that doesn't help. Otoh, tiger vs sheep.

Beer? Otherwise nothing, but I'm choosing nachos. Close.

2022 Superbowl scheduled for 3 pm PST in LA at the Ram's stadium (whatever it's called today). Scheduled to take 4:15 hours.

That's in addition to the estimated commercial overload during the game. I'm guessing it will be 50% actual field action (inluding timeouts, penalties, riots, and such), 25% commercials, and 25% nonsense commentary.

Pregame commercials start at 10 and scheduled to take five hours. That's another shitload of commercials.

Who will win? Since it's not the Niners, I don't really care. But the money seems to be on the Bengals. No idea why.

Nope, the Rams are favored by 4, as just stated above. Pay attention.

Newsflash...........Breaking News.......🤪

It's almost like they don't play this game every year.

Money on the Bengals?

Point spread: Rams -4.5 (Rams favored to win by more than 4.5 points, otherwise Bengals cover)

It's comically obvious that you don't know or care about football and are not a fan.

Which makes it all the more entertaining when you post on this thread like you're some sort of savant then repeatedly show your ass.

Sluggo, as usual, is full of shit.

Ulysses, OTOH, has actual stats to back up his posts.

Example:

Just timed the pre-game show. From 10:15 TO 10:33:

36% of the show time was just for commercials.

Suck it, Sluggo.

Poor Sluggo. Too dim-witted to understand simple statistics.
