DeSantis is and has been sucking up to 45SHOLE and his Trumpettes for years. Any differences are largely staged and cosmetic.Ulysses wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 11:09 pmWell, from what little I know about the Great Santini, is that he has little to no interest in sucking up to anybody. Which ordinarily would be a plus, except it appears he's replaced it with an extremely self-centered and arrogant world view. Now, who does that remind us of?

Wannabe candidates can seem to have a big following, helped along by their own horn-tooting, and then they hit a big crash in primaries. Like Cruz, Little Bush, Kashich, some of the Dems. Probably the reality is that 500 miles outside the Florida line, most people know only about his ridiculous CoVid policies, and another huge number agree with Ulysses, "DeSant-who"?

More humiliation in Cheetohead's future?
Would Trump leave Florida to make DeSantis his running mate? He might have to.

Well, he did quit the GOP and join the Dems.
That's all I really know about him.
But I figure there are plenty of other Dems who can step up and win in '24 if Biden doesn't run again. Probably not Harris, but you never know.

Anyhow, IMO DeSantis is not enough of a bootlicker for either he or former PINO to have him in a VP role.2000 presidential election
In early 2000, while serving as the CEO of Halliburton, Cheney headed then-Governor of Texas George W. Bush's vice-presidential search committee. On July 25, after reviewing Cheney's findings, Bush surprised some pundits by asking Cheney himself to join the Republican ticket. Halliburton reportedly reached agreement on July 20 to allow Cheney to retire, with a package estimated at $20 million.
A few months before the election Cheney put his home in Dallas up for sale and changed his drivers' license and voter registration back to Wyoming. This change was necessary to allow Texas' presidential electors to vote for both Bush and Cheney without contravening the Twelfth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which forbids electors from voting for "an inhabitant of the same state with themselves" for both president and vice president....

You meant for POTUS??? He'll have enough of a struggle winning the FL Gov race in 2022. No way do the national Dems EVER nominate a former Repug for POTUS, no way.

Well, "an extremely self centered and arrogant world view" reminds me of "god" and trump. And for trump, he thinks he is both those things.

Trump isn't moving from his Palm Beach exile. He'd just get one of his Arizona accomplices to give DeSantis an address and get him a drivers licence.

He's probably keeping a close to the ground presence in FL because there you can keep your house if you go bankrupt.

Re: Ex President* Trump
A valid point, but he does have a lot of payroll to meet. Not just business stuff but also the political propaganda aspect of his repulsive existence. Whether he pays any of this is anybody's guess. I mean, he ran a fake university and a fake charity and a fake presidency. Maybe he's just totally fake in every possible way. Hell, of course he is.billy.pilgrim wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 6:25 pmHow can he possibly go bankrupt with every rube in the country sending him money from every paycheck?neoplacebo wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 5:49 pmHe's probably keeping a close to the ground presence in FL because there you can keep your house if you go bankrupt.

Idk about bankruptcy, but he has a club that he's living at illegally, not a house. In theory he could be tossed to the curb.neoplacebo wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 5:49 pmHe's probably keeping a close to the ground presence in FL because there you can keep your house if you go bankrupt.

Re: Ex President* Trump
I think the best possible thing that could happen is if trump got evicted for not paying himself rent once the eviction moratorium expired. This would make his head explode and cause him to blame radical Democrats instead of Allen Weisselberg.Vrede too wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 8:56 pmIdk about bankruptcy, but he has a club that he's living at illegally, not a house. I don't think Trump has a snowball's chance in Hell of winning the presidency again.
