Since the conclusion of the 2016 United States presidential election, Kerr has been critical of Donald Trump. In an interview following the election, Kerr voiced the opinion that Trump's rise to power was based on insults against women and minorities. He compared Trump's campaign performances and the crude responses of his supporters to the sensationalism of The Jerry Springer Show. He made clear his "disgust" with Trump's disrespectful public discourse and disappointment with his leadership of the country.[52]
Kerr has been a strong supporter of gun control, expressing exasperation with the government's grossly inadequate response to school shootings.[53] On May 24, 2022, during a press conference for Game 4 of the NBA's 2022 Western Conference Finals after the Robb Elementary School shooting in Texas where 19 children and a teacher were murdered by a body-armor wearing shooter wielding an automatic weapon, he reiterated these points and said regarding the filibuster, that Republicans in the U.S. Senate were "holding us hostage" by using it to prevent a vote on gun control legislation.[54]
Kerr has voiced support for the Black Lives Matter movements across the United States, praising the efforts of peaceful protests and hopes that more people will take action to stand up to systemic racial injustice to black people.[citation needed]
On October 27, 2020, Kerr endorsed Joe Biden for President in that year's upcoming election in an ad made by The Lincoln Project.[55] In the ad, he announced many of his views; "stand[ing] for truth over lies", "categorically reject[ing] white supremacy", and "believe[ing] a presidency should be transparent" were among them.
The Heat and Celtics join in, perhaps inspired by Kerr:

... Gun control is once again a major issue after Tuesday, especially in Florida, where the state's Republican leadership is currently pushing for a change in state law allowing residents to carry concealed guns without permits. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has pledged to sign the bill before the end of his term, while state Democrats have called for the state legislature to make a move in the opposite direction.
Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra commented on the shooting before the game Wednesday, telling reporters he wants to see action.

Stanley Cup conflict?
There's 1 game every day, but only 1 game. No reason games can't be staggered like they are with NBA games on Sun and Wed. If the NHL can play their semis every other day Idk why the NBA can't do so with their finals.
My other guess is TV ratings. More people likely to watch on Sunday night as opposed to Saturday night in early June when the weather just turned nice in earnest for a lot of the country.

That's a good guess, but what about game 3? They have been doing 2 day breaks even with city changes and Tues ratings would seem as good as Wed ratings. What do they gain by lengthening the Finals by as much as a week?GoCubsGo wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2022 11:33 amMy other guess is TV ratings. 1-1, excellent! Stomped them by 19. Now on to Boston and hopefully regaining the homecourt edge, if not sweeping the Celtics.
