Wingnutties out of control!

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Here's what #LaurenBoebertIsSoDumb is referring to:

A suspected Chinese spy slept with at least 2 mayors and got close to Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell in a years-long intelligence campaign, report says

This article, at least, does not suggest that Swalwell and Fang Fang were having sex. She left the US in 2015 as the FBI was closing in.

I'm pretty sure that Useless lives in Swalwell's California 15th congressional district. The article does not suggest that Useless and Fang Fang were having sex, either.

I have no idea if this is true

Rolling Stone:
Democrats Delight in Roasting ‘Imbecile’ Kevin McCarthy’s Eight-Hour House Floor Speech

Kevin McCarthy started speaking on the floor of the House of Representatives not long after 8 p.m. Thursday night. He stopped just after 5 a.m. Friday morning, setting the record for the longest continuous speech in modern House history. Ironically, he didn’t have much to say.

The minority leader’s address was designed specifically to delay the chamber’s vote on President Biden’s $1.85 trillion Build Back Better social spending bill....

Democrats were amused by McCarthy’s antics. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) fired up Instagram Live to roast his speech. “Live, from the cloakroom of the U.S. House of Representatives, one of the worst, lowest-quality speeches I have ever had the absolute atrocious lack of privilege to witness,” she said....

“What this is is an elaborate, extended, and painfully protracted political audition by Kevin McCarthy for Donald Trump, to show that he can be as imbecilic and authoritarian and idiotic as the rest of them, because he’s afraid he’s going to get outflanked by Jim Jordan or [Steve] Scalise or someone else,” (Rep. Jamie, D-Md) Raskin added....

HuffPo:
Kevin McCarthy's Hours-Long 'Unhinged Diatribe' Prompts Rage, Ridicule And Memes

... Democrats decided soon after midnight to instead vote on the package Friday morning.

... McCarthy is “more upset about climate action and universal pre-K and Medicare covering hearing [aids] than he is about his own guy, [Rep. Paul] Gosar, creating a violent homicidal cartoon that he put up on the internet and refused to take down,” Raskin commented. And Republicans are “really upset because we censured him for it yesterday.”

Rep. Grace Meng (D-N.Y.) said she had “delivered a baby in less time.”

“Now step aside and let us deliver real change, like paid leave and child care, to American families,” she tweeted.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) described it as a “temper tantrum” and issued a statement with fact checks about some of his claims.

Reactions from other Democrats have been compiled below:

 More reactions at the link.
The Build Back Better bill passed the House this morning, anyhow. :---P

I know there's always a certain element of exaggerating tone and hand gestures and what not in public speaking to help drive home the point, but I feel like it's become WAY more exaggerated in the last few years because you get neat little clips you can share on Twitter. Most Americans conflate reality and entertainment to the point where both are indistinguishable so it works extra well in earning acolotyes.

What is wrong with the American people?

Who is Aaron Coleman, the Kansas state rep. arrested on charge of domestic battery?
Kansas getting what they deserve. He should talk to Maddie to learn about maturity and decorum.

 Democrat goes haywire. Just goes to show that reality deniers and incessant liars aren't the only ones to be stomped by the media. But to hear them tell it, that just ain't the way it is. I await the next stomping; I figure it's about ten to one, Republican stomping being way ahead. Next thing you know, Democrats will be committing voter fraud just like those pure Republicans are continually caught engaging in. Stomping hilarious.

This does not give me warm fuzzies.....

DeSantis proposes a new civilian military force in Florida that he would control
... The Florida National Guard has also played a vital role during the pandemic in administering Covid-19 tests and distributing vaccines.
The DeSSantis Guard won't do that commie shit.
... DeSantis is proposing bringing it back with a volunteer force of 200 civilians, and he is seeking $3.5 million from the state legislature in startup costs to train and equip them....

The proposal from DeSantis comes on the heels of Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin's directive warning that National Guard members who refuse to get vaccinated against the coronavirus will have their pay withheld and barred from training.
Great, a Governor's Gestapo of unvaccinated Florida Men.
... In 2015, Republican Gov. Greg Abbott used the Texas state guard to monitor federal military exercises in his state, responding to what was at the time a fast-growing conspiracy theory that the federal government was using Walmart parking lots to prepare for a future state of martial law. Abbott said the guards were just collecting information to keep Texans safe during the multi-week exercises.
Florida law authorizes the governor to maintain a defense force as "necessary to assist the civil authorities in maintaining law and order," meaning DeSantis would have another force to respond to unrest that may erupt in the future. DeSantis swiftly deployed the Florida National Guard to major cities after protests and violence broke out in response to the murder of George Floyd in Minnesota.

DeSantis has also stationed Florida National Guard troops at the Texas-Mexico border and sent them to Washington, DC, to help protect the US Capitol during the inauguration of President Joe Biden.
The announcement on Thursday came during a broader rollout of DeSantis' plan to bolster Florida's National Guard, which included $100 million in funding proposals to establish three new armories, build a new headquarters for the National Guard Counter Drug Program and provide support for Florida National Guardsmen seeking higher-education degrees.
Doesn't really sound like he's being hindered in his existing militarization.

No, that's not it. What's happening is Obama is thinking about moving south and DeSantis is organizing a special paramilitary force to protect the Obama family and their friends.

Jeez, I thought you were gonna say that it's to protect Florida's sovereign borders from a Muslim invasion.

:wtf: My hometown makes national news.....for being stupid. I may have to personally get stomping involved in this fiasco. Local teacher is fired for stating that white privilege is real. I'm sure Diana Harshbarger is proud. I plan to check in with her about this as well. I think she misses me.

Wow. I know that we make it a habit or even a hobby to knock our locales, but that really sucks. Sorry. I'll come up there to help you campaign for school board if you want.

So Rep Jordan, as execrable as he most certainly is, is not actually mentioning TFG by name in this recitation of purloined history.

I will therefore damn Jimmy with the faintest of praise.

Thanks, hominy. Somebody sure needs to run for local school board but I don't think they'd like my policy. It would encompass a bevy of things wingnuts detest, some things they never heard of but would surely detest, and even some things they like but would detest merely because I advocate for them. I would recommend teaching "the neoplacebo way," the importance of and appropriate occasions where stomping is called for, swift and meaningful punishment for failure of comprehension, expulsion for repeated instances of same, and a general ban on shit that isn't true or that's found to be stupid. On top of all that, "Christians" will not be discriminated against, but if a group of students declares themselves to be Christians, they will be forced to act and speak in the Christian spirit. Ones that violate their self righteous "Christian" designation will be kicked out of the group and be forced to wear a "fake Christian" sign around the neck for two months while at school.

What I meant in my post is that Biden's order the other day or last week about not recognizing trump's claims of executive privilege had the immediate effect of the National Archives providing the House with the documents they had requested. As a government entity, the Archives has no attorneys fighting to keep any of those records from being forwarded. It is still the choice of any individuals issued subpoenas to refuse to comply, which the idiot Bannon is doing. I've read that Meadows and Patel are being cooperative, though.
Meadows reneged today. I was surprised that he had ever agreed. In hindsight it's clear that his intent all along was to pretend to go along and then to withdraw because he "discovered" that the Jan 6 Committee's work is unethical or illegal. Asshole.
