Yeah, the faithful handle / take up / fondle rattlesnakes typically, and generally prance around with them during the services. I remember a few years ago one of the members was bitten and died.....not sure if it was TN or WV but in any case, this proves his faith was not strong. I had a quite vivid dream of myself at the Sunday service prancing around with a rattler (still wearing the boa necktie) and being amazed at the reaction of the congregation, as they had evidently not seen a parishioner take up the serpent and shed his skin at the same time. Then I woke up. AmenSeth Milner wrote:neoplacebo wrote: Yeah, well, the boa is just for appearance sake; just to sort of let them know I'm not a rookie.
Jesse Ventura wore a feather boa. That's as close to a boa I'd get to.
And I'm no Bible scholar but I remember the line as being that they shall just "take up serpents."
Teah well, even though I used quote marks, I added "poisonous" because I don't think their handling a non-poisonous snake would impress others with their show of faith. There's another video on YouTube of this same bunch of clowns who's pastor died of a snake-bite.
I suppose that means his faith wavered? Anyway, poisonous or not, I'm not going to "take up" ANY damn snake (or serpent).

If you looked like Britney Spears, I'd be the "whipped" one.

Along with being hateful, allying with ISIS and unpatriotic, how is this not also criminal incitement?Pastor who praised Orlando shooting: ‘In America, you’re no longer allowed to have an opinion’
Roger Jimenez, the baptist pastor who praised Sunday’s mass shooting in Orlando, doubled down on his comments Tuesday amid a firestorm ignited by his recent anti-gay remarks....
“I don’t regret anything that I said, and I don’t take back anything that I said,” Mr. Jimeneztold KCRA News.
“This is not something that we as Christians need to be mourning,” he said of Sunday’s massacre.
Hours after a gunman entered Pulse nightclub in Orlando and slaughtered dozens of patrons, the preacher declared during Sunday evening service that Christians “shouldn’t be mourning the death of 50 sodomites,” and said Orlando was “a little safer” as a result of the terror attack....
“The point that I was making is the Bible teaches us that these people deserve to die,” he said of homosexuals.
“I was just calling for normal people to stand up and say, ‘You know what, enough is enough. We’re sick and tired of it. We think it’s disgusting, and we’re not going to mourn it. It’s not a tragedy because they deserved to die.’”
On Verity’s website, the church says it considers sodomy to be “a sin and an abomination” punishable by death, and that homosexuals are prohibited from attending its services. Verity describes itself as an “independent, fundamental, soul winning, separated, King James Bible believing Baptist church,” that attracts upwards of 200 attendees each Sundays, according to the pastor....
... Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, told the Sacramento Bee this week that Mr. Jimenez’s remarks were “theologically erroneous,” adding: “I condemn his entire presentation.” ...

Touching . . . considering the venue where they're protesting with the gigantic "Comedy of the Year" poster behind them.
"Faith over Fear". Which won out . . . faith or the beheading?

Damn! Bigot? What? a religious bigot? That went waaayyy over your head didn't it? S'matter, did I type it too fast for you?
I'm going to have a heart and explain; if I don't fall asleep first, I'll type this very, very, slowly; try and keep up. The poster behind them, (do you see it? that big blue thingy?) is advertising a religious comedy. The protestors are holding signs that say "Faith over Fear". Now, that says to me that if they put their faith in their God, He will help them overcome their fear of Islam, Muslims, or whatever they're afraid of. My question dealt with those who were beheaded by radical Islamists. Their "faith" didn't save them. Muslims do not consider Christians, or Americans for that matter, to be "brothers or sisters", because the Bible, which you nor Muslims believe in, mentions "Brothers and Sisters in Christ". Mohammed is their christ, not Jesus. Did you get that? You didn't feel a rush of air through your hair, (if you have any) did you?
Don't you have a Nazi Trump rally to go to?
No, don't you remember? You've invited ol' Mike & Sarah and myself to your house. We're going to fill up on choice steaks (choice bull, you know), and sit around a campfire and sing Kumbaya. Rallys are not my bag, you'll have to go alone.

Is it about Trump's supposedly Christian faith?
"Faith over Fear". Which won out . . . faith or the beheading?
Given that these believers and other liberals will win in November, I'd say that their faith won out over Trump, the Islamophobes and Christian fundies. Wouldn't you?

Honest question:
Why is being an Islamophobe a bad thing? Is being a Christianphobe bad?
What if you don't have a problem with the people, but only the religion?
What if I dislike all religions equally, think Islam and Christianity and Hinduism are icky and have a strong aversion to them all, but am still cool with people doing their thang so long as they leave me the F out of it?

Not all Muslims, Christians or their sects are the same.

Islamophobia is both.

That's a matter of taste, not active Islamophobic bigotry.
