FCS Coaches Poll

Montana State 9-1 remains #3.
Montana 7-3 moved up 2 to #12 after crushing unranked Eastern Washington 63-7 and other ranked teams lost.

Sat, Nov 19 2:00 PM Montana @Montana State in the regular season finale. ESPN+. Go Griz!
Tickets as low as $376, and those are in the corners of the endzone. :o
I don't think the Big Sky Conference has a championship game. Montana wouldn't qualify even if it wins. Currently, it looks like Sacramento 10-0, 7-0 may hold some tiebreaker over Montana State 9-1, 7-0, but I don't know what it is. Maybe conference point differential?
https://www.espn.com/college-football/s ... w/fcs-i-aa

Anyhow, a Montana win might get it into the playoffs, a loss might keep it out. I think Montana State is in the playoffs win or lose.

:D It's up to 16 F, no dome in Bozeman (or Missoula). Top seeds are a big advantage vs southern teams in the playoffs  . I'm pretty sure that I saw this morning "Tickets as low as $33" . The Griz are currently getting beaten up 7-21 after 1. :(

Baylor is leading #4 TCU 28-20 middle of the 4th!
Edit: TCU drive and TD, dropped 2pt try! TCU had missed an EP after its 3rd TD late in the 3rd, and therein may hang the game. 2 min left, Baylor ball.

GO:

11:00 AM EST
@(20) UCF 8-2 (-15.5) > Navy 3-7, TV: ESPN2
I'm sunk, 14-17. Bye-bye Top 25, Mickey.

12:00 PM EST
Wisconsin 5-5 (-10) > @Nebraska 3-7, TV: ESPN
Wisconsin TD with 0:35 left! 15-14!!!
@Baylor 6-4 > (4) TCU 10-0 (-2, just 2?), TV: Fox
CRAP! TCU walkoff FG, 29-28. Might TCU slide out of the playoffs?
UConn 6-5 > @Army 3-6 (-10.5), TV: CBSS :x
Nope, Army stomps.
Virginia Tech 2-8 > @Liberty 8-2 (-10), TV: ESP+ :x
Phew, 23-22. Classy of Liberty to wear UVA colors.
2-3, 2-4 on the weekend.

Also:
Northwestern 1-10 9 @Purdue 7-4 (-17.5) 17. Next year, GoCubsGo.
Duke 2pt attempt failed with 0:44 left. @Pitt (-6.5) wins 28-26. I didn't have a favorite.
CRAP! @(3) Mich 11-0 near walkoff FG with 0:09 left vs unranked IL, 19-17. Might Mich slide out of the playoffs?

We'll see, but we were 2 walkoff FGs from complete chaos in the playoffs. :(

I suppose it's a contrarian view, but I think a team's ability to hang in and yank themselves out of the fire while having a bad day might be a measure of their quality, not their weakness. The ol' "find a way to win" concept.

Definitely worth consideration, but the comparison is to teams that are finding a way to win by 10 or 20 points vs ranked and unranked teams. Fwiw, IL is ranked #32 by AP and Baylor didn't get any votes at all.
https://www.espn.com/college-football/rankings

Now, it's (2) OH St 10-0 (-26.5) 10 @(0 votes) MD 13!!! Halftime.
Also (1) GA (-22.5) 9 @(0 votes) KY 0, halftime.
The playoff teams are all looking sketchy.

Montana got stomped, 21-55 :puke-left: . 7-4, 4-4, season is over :( . Go Montana St, 10-1, 8-0, win it all.

Wait, what??!! You're rooting AGAINST Northwestern? TRAITOR! Meh, Purdue did miss the subsequent FG, but still won 17-9.

Idk the letter and application of the Unsportsmanlike Rule, but high-stepping for 30 yards is rather rude. Maybe he would have gotten away with just the last 5 yards?

The rules have tightened, that looks like NFL rather than college, he kept it to 10 yards, and no one should cite "Prime Time" on sporting restraint. :P

Tied 17 all at halftime

Some kinda weird officiating here likely explained by using other than sec officials. Conferences are different.
But Arkansas v ol miss has me rethinking Lane - that is if the sec guys are picking one his bad boy image. I turned it off due to the no calls against Arkansas.

Silver lining: If (9) Clemson 9-1 wins the ACC beating UNC will count for less, thus probably canceling any hope Clemson had of worming its way into the playoffs.

Well, we don't have to worry about whether the 'Heels will get into the playoffs. And we might find that "getting no respect" isn't unfair.

Best thing we could hope for out of the 'Canes was that maybe heap an injury or so on Clemson. Apparently they only injured their own dicks stepping on them.

Yay Terps! Gave it a good shot for most of the game.

Hmm, vs 7 USC this week. I would normally root for UCLA, but a win may knock the Pac-12 out of the Playoffs.
Go football!
Okay then, USC 48, UCLA 45 in a wild game. USC and the Pac-12's Playoff hopes are very much alive.

Also:
OK knocked OK St out of the Top 25.
Hogs beat the #14 Ole Slaver/Traitors
#17 Huskies are kicking Buffalo butt early in the 4th. Congrats, Lady O.
Unranked SC killed #5 TN 63-38.

#1 - tepid performance
#2-4 - almost beaten by unranked teams
#5 - stomped
#6 - beat a no-name school
#7 - quality win
#8 - beat an FCS school
#9 - beat a no-name school (sorry, O Really ;) )
#10 - 3-17 losing to #12 at halftime
#11 - beat a no-name school
#s 13, 14 & 16 lost
https://sports.yahoo.com/college-football/rankings/

So close to major turmoil, but the PSC gives absolute weight to records whereas I would consider quality of late wins. The talking heads think that #7 USC will jump past #6 LSU to replace #5 TN. Then, it will have to survive #18 ND and wait for #2 OH St or #3 Mich to lose - Playoffs!

Just when you think they're really winning
They'll fumble it again
Don't fall in love with the Tarheels

As a kid I loved Georgia Tech, the AU v Tech game dated back to both teams 1st season and each had had Heisman for a coach, but best of all was the Wreck Tech Parade on the Wednesday afternoon before the game because we got out of school at 11 so we could go to the parade.
In the early 80s we had played more games than anyone else in the South, but Teck was going through a rough patch and dropped us as a non-conference game.

Georgia Tech's glory days are well in the past, but I usually root for it since my bro is a prof there, even though he has zero interest in football. I was only rooting against it since North Carolina is ranked and even had a faint dream of a Playoff spot.
