The woman told Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies she was praying at the time and had her eyes closed, according to the OCSO.
The Fort Walton Beach woman was traveling eastbound on Marcia Drive when she failed to stop at a stop sign, went through an intersection and into the yard of a home on Miramar Drive.

Honestly, everybody seems to be talking smack on the game saying it's dumb and childish, but I think it's a pretty cool concept. What's the harm in a game that gets people out and about? People are saying "it's such a waste if time, especially if you're an adult over 30 playing this shit", but lemme ask this, is it not even more of a waste of time to be sitting on your ass watching TV? At least in pokemon go you're out getting a workout and visiting different places.

I used to talk mad trash on professional sports. I still would rather stick my willy in a garbage disposal than sit through a football game, but I get it. It's entertainment and it makes people happy. Same with pokemon go, so fuck it.
Hockey's alright though.

Agreed.JTA wrote:What's the harm in a game that gets people out and about?
Granted, this isn't merely a new game; it's a social change. People in large numbers are doing something that no-one was doing just weeks ago. And so there are new problems. This week has seen:
- Thieves hanging around a remote Pokémon location at night to rob anyone who showed up.
- A gas-emitting Pokémon placed in a Holocaust museum.
- A Pokémon placed in a private home (on a formerly public property) leading to large numbers of people showing up and harassing the owners and neighbors.
- A woman staring at a cell phone walking in front of a TV weatherman while on-air.
- Someone driving into a tree - hard - swerving into it while tracking a Pokémon on his phone.
- Reports of people walking into traffic.
- Etc.
This'll REALLY go nuts when a consumer version of Microsoft's Hololens is released. Still, overall it's a good thing. Kids and seniors will get more exercise with a new generation of augmented reality games. Far more than they get sitting in front of a TV game only twitching their fingers and thumbs on a game controller.

Re: The Religion Thread
It's no so much the game as it is the increased number of people walking around mindlessly staring at their phone, as if there wasn't enough smartphone zombies walking around mindlessly staring at their phone.
You've got a point there JTA, why sit on your ass staring mindlessly at your phone, when you can walk and mindlessly stare at your phone?

. . . or posting in a liberal-dominated, "If I want your opinion, I'll give it to you" forum?JTA wrote:but lemme ask this, is it not even more of a waste of time to be sitting on your ass watching TV?

I know your pain. I too have been plopped down in a bar with no one to buy a drink for . . .![]()
but the way I look at it its no different from back in the day when people be reading newspapers and what not.
"Back in the day", if someone was reading a newspaper in public, they were sitting on a bench or propped up on the side of a building. Can you imagine walking down the sidewalk with your face buried in a newspaper? Phones aren't much different except the viewing area is smaller, but even with that, people still walk into poles, fountains, each other, etc.
But yeah man I try to keep my phone in my pocket . I prefer chatting with people .
Same here. I can walk, talk, and chew gum at the same time, but probably not so much if my eyes were glued downward.

I never really understood the original Pokemon, and am not much for vid games, so I don't think I'll be run over chasing a phantom. I do like the idea of a game that requires physical movement, though.
Looks like these guys could do with some physical movement that doesn't involve bending elbows... http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/two-fa ... &ocid=iehp

Right! I forgot to mention that in my list above.Seth Milner wrote:"One player reportedly found a body while playing in Wyoming,
It happened again today in New Hampshire. Apparently the original last line of the 7 News report was "It is unclear what caused the man’s death, and whether he was also playing Pokemon GO."
