The Global Warming thread.

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

I'd go with "Warranty void if removed."

For humans of the female persuasion that can't spell "Chattanooga"?

I only go for the illiterate ones because they're typically missing all of their teeth.

Ah, I thought maybe there wasn't enough room for the extra letter, let alone the comma.

The train goes up, the train goes down: a simple new way to store energy

Cool, I knew of the concept with water and the issues with it, never thought of doing it with man-made mass.

Now we know why we haven't heard from any other intelligent races in the cosmos.... republicans destroy every planet that has sentient life at some point.

Scientists: "The planet is warming up, we're all gonna die unless we do something!" Derpublicans: "No wai, your science is wrong, what I feel is right, and it doesn't say anything about that in our religious texts".... and then extinction.

Global Temperature Change

Image

Climate scientist Ed Hawkins posted this GIF as a visualization of global temperatures spiraling upward from the average global temperature for the 1850 to 1900 time frame. The graphic has gone viral on social media. Hawkins is editor of the Climate Lab Book, an “experiment” in open-source climate science. The goal of the blog is to promote collaboration through open scientific discussion on climate science, with posts written by climate scientists but open for anyone to see and comment on. Hawkins is with the University of Reading in the UK and an author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's Fifth Assessment Report.

This Global Warming thing is spiraling out of control; Florida's pests are beginning to mutate!!

and staying where the whim hit us. I may have found me some property to build my shanty on though. The only thing I didn't care for was meeting the state bird.
A friend in Zephyrhills sent me this photo: She claims this is the true state bird of Florida:

I read an article this morning where Greenland recorded it's first ever June temperature of 75°.
The nay-sayers can spit and spew and deny global warming all they want; I can't see their denial when the evidence is all around us.

(Note that official weather records in Greenland only date back to 1958 and historical records indicate that on June 23, 1915, the temperature may have reached 86 degrees (30.1 C) in Ivigtut.)
