Wingnutties out of control!

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Stephen Miller is one of the most despicable human beings to ever appear in public life. There's plenty of competition, though. This school district, for example:
Idaho Teacher Says She Was Ordered To Remove 'Everyone Is Welcome Here' Signs From Classroom
A district official reportedly told middle school teacher Sarah Inama that in this political climate, her welcoming message was a "personal opinion."

... Although the idea of making everyone feel welcome seems like the least offensive thing a teacher could do, officials for the West Ada School District reportedly thought otherwise and ordered her to take down the signs.

The reasoning? District officials claimed that posters saying “Everyone is welcome here” violate a policy that requires classroom content to be neutral, per Inama.
"neutral" on being welcoming? :wtf:
“They told me that they were in violation of district policy because, in today’s political environment, they’re considered a personal opinion,” Inama told Boise NBC affiliate KTVB.
The district encourages the "personal opinion" to be unwelcoming? :angry-banghead:
At first, she complied with the unwelcoming edict, but she said she changed her mind because she believes the message of the signs represents a core value of public education.

However, Marcus Myers, the district’s chief academic officer, told KTVB via email that policy dictates district facilities be “content neutral” and respect others’ right to express differing opinions.

Inama pointed out that her signs actually align with posters made by the district that encourage students to “welcome others and embrace diversity.”
:---P
Not surprisingly, she is concerned about the message being sent by the removal of her signs.“I just feel like as a teacher ... I would do anything to protect my students. I love all of them unconditionally,” Inama told KTVB....
 :-|| Good on Inama for going public. I hope she isn't fired.

Stupid about the welcoming sign. Any thinking person would see it as a goodwill gesture. Another reason to try and enroll kids in private schools.

In Idaho?

Meridian Idaho is the second most inhabited area in Idaho with just over 100,000 people, about the size of Henderson County.

What about other far more rural areas with lower median incomes all over the country where private schools are not an option?

That's your first solution? How about firing Marcus Myers, the district’s chief academic officer, who works for you and whom you pay for, and getting somebody who is a "thinking person?" Hell, DeSantis and friends (for example) are ordering books removed from school libraries under a guise of "parental choice and control") That would be the "parental choice" of a couple of karens that are afraid their kids will catch the gay while not vaccinating them for real diseases.

Sure, you can send your kid to a private school if you can afford it, but that doesn't fix the problem in that community where administrative stupidity apparently reigns.

For clarification, are you referring to the stupidity of the citizenry or the school administrators?

:headscratch: Plus, by definition private schools DON'T welcome everyone.
Cost negates the poor, other than the few with scholarships.
Transportation negates the working parents.
Most are xtian madrassas, thus negating the non-xtian.
Few have the resources for the disabled, especially the developmentally disabled.
Others will have even more restrictive admission policies than public schools, because they can.

'Everyone Is Welcome Here' would be a joke and a lie.

Yes
To the administrator for being totally incapable of exercising rational judgement, and to the citizenry who allow him to stay in office. And no, I don't think one incident like this should be grounds for firing an otherwise capable person. If he'd just say "opps, sorry for an excessively narrow interpretation" and we'd all move along. But I'd be willing to bet he's made other similar bonehead decisions and is too dug in to reverse.

I agree many private schools have higher standards for admission. Just like colleges and universities. That is not necessarily discriminatory as much as it is merit based.

We agree this is probably not the only dumb thing the administrator has done.

Big part of the problem with the current crop of wingnuts.

Big on sweeping statements and platitudes, they have zero concept on the ability to think what comes next, how to practically implement them and possible consequences.

Forward thinking is an anathema and frankly just too difficult for their electorate.

LOL

What's the saying?

“If the facts are against you, argue the law. If the law is against you, argue the facts. If the law and the facts are against you, pound the table and yell like hell”

The wingnuts have been pounding the table since 2015. It works with a lazy, uninformed, misogynistic and racist electorate, so I give them points for knowing their people.

Supes is a perfect example, all hat no cattle. He's been invited umpteent times to actually engage on subject matter, to clarify, expand or expound on his ignorant ass opinions.

He runs away.

Every.
Fucking.
Time.

Then comes back and expounds more unsubstantiated bullshit and whackadoodle opinions.

What a waste of oxygen.

Not as well as Trump's insults. I guess he just has more practice - or voters so dense they don't know he's insulted them.

I guess the repugs find insulting their ummm "constituents" to be successful. They're still at it even after winning the election.

"Speaking with Politico's Dasha Burns, La Civita defended Trump's trade war and when pressed, "The thing that I’ve been watching though is the stock market, as I know a lot of folks in business have been watching," he replied, "A bunch of bed-wetters."

Yet here he is ranting about SNL.

'Church Of Woke': Stephen Miller Flips Out Over ‘Saturday Night Live’ Joke About Trump

Be a fun guy to invite to your next party.
He's already had another nonsensical tantrum:
Stephen Miller Loses His Cool on Fox News: ‘Absolute Moron’

Stephen Miller threw a veritable hissy fit on Fox News Monday after a host questioned whether Donald Trump’s invocation of wartime authority to deport migrants would hold up legally....
Stephen Miller Throws On-Air Tantrum After MSNBC Analyst Dares To Question Trump
"He is a moron, and he is a fool, and he’s a degenerate," raged the top Trump adviser.

Top Trump adviser Stephen Miller absolutely lost it on live television on Monday over criticism that former federal prosecutor-turned-MSNBC legal analyst Andrew Weissmann had leveled at Donald Trump over the president’s invocation of the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to deport migrants.

Fox News’ Martha MacCallum played footage of Weissmann describing Trump’s legally questionable move as possibly unconstitutional because the act was really intended to be used when the United States is at war....
