I just got a reply from the moderator re: my posting nascar's avatar and signature.
Moderator says that Nascarfan88 has been given a time out for re-posting a deleted post.
Mod may send you a warning; he asked me to, I told him he was the one in charge; do it himself.

Yes, you'd expect a news organization to be a little more protective of free speech rights,
even though they have no obligation to do so, but I'm not surprised they aren't.

I got a one week suspension, but I figured this new guy is so sensitive and narrow-minded
that I'd just get banned again, so why bother? The problem with the forum is not the posters,
but the new mod going way overboard. I was on here almost a year with no problems, and I
don't believe I've posted anything lately that was worse than what I posted a year ago, so it
must be something else--and everybody knows what that something else is.

In case the link to this site on the BRN forum is deleted, what's the best way to navigate to this
particular topic within the phpBB site?

The new Mod. is persistent, no one said he is smart.

Irregardless. the mod has openly exposed themselves as incapable to moderate!!! They either take being called bow, or being bow-like as an insult, or they are closely associated...if not bow himself!!! The fact the mod has deleted, and cited/banned anyone that remark about actions by mod, also corrolates to bow's replies about questioning/impugning 'authority' of admin, as well as admitting to reporting everyone to the moderator before this one Like I posted before..."The mod is either bow, or like bow"...either way, the mod is complacent with the bigoted...but not tolerant at all with observations :arrow: OMG!!! bow is Mod, just turned upside down,and backwards...modIbow

I know that's a lie!!! Leo L., and k9nanny were on the thread that I was banned for, and Nascar was there too!!! I posted, he signed out, and the mod came on warned me about impugning mod authority...and signed out..nascar came back on!!!! I remarked about obvious alternating profiles, then he posted as nascar....only it was a cashed post he made earlier....seems his tabs got crossed up

The quickest way I found is to right click your mouse while on this page. Scroll down to 'create shortcut' and left
click on that. Then click the yes box. This will put it on your wallpaper screen (desktop) where you can one-click into it
just like clicking onto anything else.

I was going to sign up; but what would be the use? Sounds as though the T/N Moderator lives here too.

Sorry, that's just the default crap, I threw this website up in a hurry, I didn't even test user logins other than my own although apparently they work. You don't have to sign up anyway, unless you'd like the ability to edit your posts.

I was going to edit the terms of service quickly, but doesn't appear to be an option in the admin panel, looks like I have to hunt the HTML down and manually take it out. I won't have time tonight, and really it's worthless anyway.

My opinion is that if someone encounters an offensive post they know where the ignore button is.

I'm sure this is just a temporary venting forum until blueridgenow gets sorted out.

.....the forum rules that plainly state the administrator and I have the final say in what is allowed to be posted or not. Some are calling this censorship, it is enforcement of existing forum rules.

The same thing happened with both the Gainesville Sun and Ocala forums when the NYTimes owned them. The same scenario was used in that ever tighter moderating was used and finally, without any warning, they were both shutdown. They allowed PM's for a couple of weeks and a forum was set up using the same platform as here. Unfortunately there is not the same influx of new posters who keep things interesting and lively. By the way, the owner of that forum does not censor so cursing is allowed which would help with Defective Thorn (just kidding nothing would get through to him or BU). I'll let Stinger, Cowboy, and perspctv know about this place.

it was not the administrator who wrote that, it was the moderator and i am not trolling.

when i posted that piece, i forgot to put my username in the username box, and it showed me to be a guest poster.
sorry for the confusion.

i had communicated with the moderator trying to get more than a canned response in regard to his actions and that was the mumbo jumbo he
wrote back to me. then the administrator posted in the t/n forum about disseminating misinformation and i sent him an email explaining that
was what the moderator wrote himself. the response i got back makes it appear that he is unaware of the moderators actions or writings!
this ought to be good.
