Impeachment

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

As for the Iranian General killing Americans, well, if Americans weren't over there, he wouldn't be able to kill them. Now somebody else will kill them.
No, it didn't end when U.S. Seals shot Bin Laden in the head and it won't end with Soleimani. Better to single out evil people that would do Americans harm on their shores and eliminate them, other than allowing them to organize further plans to kill Americans on our shores.

As usual, you miss the point. We are coming up on the 17 year anniversary of the monumental blunder of invading Iraq. Had that not happened, the level of hate for America in the Middle East would simmer at the relatively low level its been at for decades due to the US blind unwavering support for Israel and their continual appropriation of Palestinian lands. The Iraq war, despite the GOP ludicrous claim that Obama created ISIS, is what created ISIS and AQ in Iraq and intensified the level of hate for America in the region. And now with 17 years of US military presence in the area, the level of hate is considerably higher than before the Bush war fiasco. The Iraq war also enabled Iran to have MUCH more influence in Iraq and the entire area than they had before; before Bush came along, Iraq and Iran were enemies, Iraq being Sunni and Iran being Shia. Now thanks to Bush they are no longer enemies and you and I and and all other Americans have spent nearly a trillion dollars to make the situation with regard to religious extremism much worse than it was before while virtually all of the GOP leaders squawk and quack that "America is safer" because of all this when, in fact, the opposite is true. The stupid runs wide and deep with the GOP mantra that "America is safer" due to GOP policy. The opposite is true.

There's a memorial of those that died 18 years ago, don't need another one to remember another attack on America.

I hear that Rudy's buddy Lev Parnas has handed over a lot of pretty explicit evidence about the Ukraine fiasco involving shady stuff that even implicates a GOP guy running for Congress, as well as Rudy and trump. Probably more about it tomorrow. The story I saw says the House is sending all of it to the Senate along with the impeachment articles. I expect the wise cunts will be hunkering down over this barking dog that will more than likely decide to take a bite.

One does wonder why is it Americans are so hated in such places? Americans aren't all that different from Canadians, Brits, Australians and, with the exception of language, a bunch of other mostly Euro-Caucasian First World people. Hmmm, let's see. It must be food preferences, given that "American food" is largely stuff stolen and watered down from other places brought by immigrants, No, that's not it. Maybe it's American cars, that were pretty crappy until they got an infusion of German and Japanese technology. Nah, that's not it. American art, music, books, universities...nope. American health care system - as if! Filter out enough it it looks like - aha! What makes America different, is the habit of condescendingly inserting ourselves - usually militarily - into the affairs of other sovereign nations without invitation or welcome. It's the air of superiority demonstrated with guns and rockets and bombers. Nah, that couldn't be it. It's probably the food.

All true, but I think it took off with The Osmonds.

More seriously, the Pentagon and merchants of death self-justify their existence. They're like the tavern drunk that paws your girlfriend just to start a fight, or the corrupt cop that's abusive in hopes of adding on charges if there's a reaction.

 Good one!
Would that be the "freedom" perceived in the US to invade other countries and force US will on them? This is still the same country of the "manifest destiny" that had no problem invading and running/killing off the former inhabitants.

I've heard that the final act sucks, but that they're toying with alternative possible surprise endings.
Watchdog: White House violated law in freezing Ukraine aid

... T he Government Accountability Office said in a report that the Office of Management and Budget violated the law in holding up the aid, which Congress passed less than a year ago, saying “the President is not vested with the power to ignore or amend any such duly enacted law."

The aid in question was held up last summer on orders from Trump but was released in September after Congress pushed for its release and a whistleblower's complaint about Trump's July call with the Ukrainian leader became public.

The independent agency, which reports to Congress, said OMB violated the Impoundment Control Act in delaying the security assistance Congress authorized for Ukraine for “policy reasons,” rather than technical budgetary needs.

“Faithful execution of the law does not permit the President to substitute his own policy priorities for those that Congress has enacted into law,” wrote the agency's general counsel, Thomas Armstrong, in the report....

Warren in a tizzy with Colonel Sanders "You called me a liar on national TV."

Pelosi's appearance on the evening news looks like she's already beginning to decompose, very similar to leftists futile impeachment.
