... Despite being just five games into his career, Williams already has reached or is on pace for several milestones:

He's the first Bears rookie with 300 yards passing and zero picks in a game. That came during the Week 5 win over the Carolina Panthers when he led the NFL with an 83.9 QBR.

He set the franchise rookie single-game record with 363 passing yards in the Week 3 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

He is the only Bears rookie with multiple 300-yard passing games.

He is one of five players with multiple 300-yard passing games this season.

He is on pace to finish with the third-most passing yards in Bears history (3,709).

He's come a long way from his NFL debut, when he was 14-of-29 for 93 yards and had a 28.5 QBR in a win over the Tennessee Titans....

When the Bears drafted Williams with the No. 1 overall pick, there was speculation he might become the franchise's first quarterback to throw for 4,000 yards in a season. He needs to average 242 passing yards over the next 12 games to reach that mark.

He's also three 300-yard passing performances away from setting that franchise record.

He still has a relatively porous line blocking for him, but something seemed to click for him during the Rams game. He finally quit holding the ball for too long and checking down (mostly, he still did it a couple of times last week). He's surrounded by playmakers and was trying to make every play when other guys could. It worked a couple of times and now he's not afraid of it. As the former Green Bay and Mississippi asshole said, just move the chains.

I preferred it when, whether required or not, most offensive linemen went: centers 50's, guards 60's, tackles 70's, ends 80's. Backs were lower than 50's. Wonder what Jim Otto would have worn today.

Those numbers didn't include today's game, but the difference is Fields is to date, having his best year and at this point he is what he is. Williams is getting better every week after a rough first three games. He still has a shot of a 4,000 yard passing season.
