Reminded me that I saw an awful example of the "queer lifestyle" recently. There were a couple of lesbians camping on the AT with their kids. Arrrrrrgh. I told them they were clearly animalistic, and were setting a horrid example for all "real" parents by actually taking their kids camping. I was also sure that my own marriage was weakened by just walking along a couple of miles with those with "queer lifestyles." One of the women was so outrageous that she was actually an accountant. An accountant, fer pete's sake! How much more aberrant could you be? The other one was a psychologist, so obviously she was totally socially unacceptable. Anyway, their "queer lifestyle" did not go unchallenged. I told them in no uncertain terms that an accountant and psychologist camping with their kids is just totally unacceptable to polite society.

Message from the NASA Administrator: Federal Benefits for Legally Married Same-Sex Couples

For the purposes of Federal benefits, legally married means that the marriage was celebrated in a state that recognizes same-sex marriage.

In other words, for Federal employees it doesn't matter if you live in a hold-out state. If you were legally married in a pro-civil rights state, you still get marriage benefits and protections.

This is the route that national corporations will take.
